''The Castle has a B&B and then they have villas. One of their villas is across the street right on the harbor. It has a phenomenal view of the harbor and a screened porch to enjoy it. It's the only room they have with a King bed and there's a really nice jacuzzi. Be warned that breakfast is not included though - we misunderstood that from the reservationist. We'll be back next fall....''
''My husband and I stayed here several times over the last few years. One trip that particularly comes to mind was in September 2002. Our car had been flooded in a tropical storm so we were stranded there. The staff couldn't have been nicer. The first day we arrived, we were wet from being out in the rain, had no luggage (it was in the flooded car) and our car was stuck on highway 12. They helped make arrangements to get the car towed in, took my husband to get us something to eat and brought us a...''
''Ocracoke Island Inn was the best place I have ever stayed on the Island. We made some noise and almost got kicked but they were understanding people and let us stay the next night. We stayed in the Villas (the best on the island) Fully furnished with everything down to juice glasses. The view from the top deck is awesome. We watched the ferry come in and unload, people on bikes, and all the movement down by the docks. We were still in walking distance of the Howards Pub. We had a blast and will...''
''I have stayed at Captains Landing on two occasions. Both experiences were wonderful. The owners are pleasant and went out of their way to make our stay special. The facilities were clean, nicely decorated and the view was amazing. I will return and hope to stay in the Pent House the next time....''
''This is a beautiful place to stay but if you have young kids find another place. The lady that runs the place frequently holds educational meetings or seances there and if the kids are making noise or are not absolutely quiet than you will hear from her. Since the house is shared with other guests it is important to not let kids get loud or out of control, but this is not always possible. You could bring duct tape to shut them up I guess. If you're single or without children then I can th...''
''Convenient, CLEAN, economic, courteous -- and a sense of Island hospitality. We've stayed here repeatedly and also rented their cottages... the best bargains on the Island. We just keep going back....''
''We just got back from a visit to Ocracoke and loved the Sanddollar. The rates are very affordable and found the staff to be very friendly. The hotel is very clean and family friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel....''
''We had originally planned to spend an entire week camping but the weather did not cooperate and so we decided to check into a hotel. Blackbeard's Lodge was absolutely perfect! The rooms were clean and they have many different options and so we were able to stay in an efficiency apartment and save a little money on meals. The common areas are really nice- lots of comfy couches and tables and a gameroom and heated pool. Our boys, 6 and 4, felt right at home and enjoyed playing with other hotel gue...''
''Friendly owners, great location with awesome sunsets from the back deck. Right across the street from the Pelican Restaurant and Bar. We have been going ther for many years during summer and the off season as well. It is our home away from home....''

''It was the only hotel I could get last minute reservations at for the weekend before the 4th of July. On the plus side, the location is convenient; it is right across the street from the harbor. The room we stayed in was roomy and it had a small refrigerator and microwave oven. On the minus side, the air conditioner was noisy and outside the window was a refrigerated trailer for the restaurant across the street. Also, the hot water trended to come and go when in the shower. Overall, not bad for...''
''The hotel was very clean, staff was nice and hospitable but the room was small and very common. The bar with live outdoor entertainment across the street was not an appropritate scene for my 12 year old. People were loud and drunk and started fighting when we arrived. The police were called as the fight spilled into the downstairs hotel rooms. The next night there was no fighting but still very loud music very late and drunks. Also the ''continental'' breakfast was a let-down. Packaged muffins,...''
''We've never stayed at the motel, but the gift shop is very, very nice! There's a great selection of clothing (though a bit pricey), but on the other side of the store is a good variety of items. After reading the glowing reviews of the motel, we'll give it a try next time we visit Ocracoke....''
