''Staying at the Cameron House Inn was the best experience we had on the Outer Banks. The outdoor fireplace on the back porch and the beautiful rooms in the arts and crafts style were great. And in addition to a very nice innkeeper, we were made to feel at home by their wonderful ''porch cats''.

Best of all though was the location in Manteo. Out of the rat race and within walking distance of the wonderful shops and restaurants in the historic district.

''We just got back from 9 days of camping. Weather was great!! Site size is VERY small. We had a pull through lot (312) and could not park our truck on the same site. Our Electrical box shorted 3 times losing power to the camper. They sent a worker to fix it but it still shorted out. Cable was very fuzzy they changed the connector and that seemed to help. Indoor pool is a very nice option. The hot tub burned my leg. For the price ($80 a night) there are a lot of other campgrounds in the area for h...''

''The Cape Hatteras Motel is great. My husband & I started going down in 1987 when our daughters were young. We have watched the change of not only the beach, but also the buildings at this location. One thing hasn't changed - the service and helpfulness of the staff there. The view from the oceanside buildings can't be beat and the pool and hot tub are quite relaxing....''

''We stayed there during the off-season in late spring and paid $109 for an oceanfront room. Peak-season rates for the same room are twice that. Call me tight-fisted, but I'd never pay that much for lodging. With that said, we enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and nice; however, the cleaning staff didn't pay attention to the ''Do Not Disturb'' sign on the door and kept asking if we wanted towels. Good ocean access....''

''Upon arriving to the comfort inn south located at nags head we found that it was a mistake to stay here. There was water leakage as you walked into the building. The floors were nasty. As we got on the elevator and came to the floor of our room, there was a horrible odor and everything basically looked skank. Our room was extremely NASTY!!!! I would not recommend anyone taking the chance and staying at this location....''
