''Upon arriving to the comfort inn south located at nags head we found that it was a mistake to stay here. There was water leakage as you walked into the building. The floors were nasty. As we got on the elevator and came to the floor of our room, there was a horrible odor and everything basically looked skank. Our room was extremely NASTY!!!! I would not recommend anyone taking the chance and staying at this location....''

''This is a great place to stay during off season. The view is wonderful and the location is perfect. This was the first time I went to Nags Head off season. This is a great place to have a romantic weekend getaway. The indoor pool and hot tub overlooks the ocean, which makes it really relaxing. ''Went online and made reservations for an efficency (Mon-Thurs.) I must say while the hotel room was somewhat aged. This place was very enjoyable!!! Very close to eats and shops. By the way, Dunes Resturant and Fat Joes WERE AWESOME!!!! Make sure that online rates reflect rates at check-in. Plus we were able to reserve our room for another night for a very reasonable price. Pool and Beach were not very crowded for August. Over All I would recommend this Hotel to friends....''

''We had originally planned to spend an entire week camping but the weather did not cooperate and so we decided to check into a hotel. Blackbeard's Lodge was absolutely perfect! The rooms were clean and they have many different options and so we were able to stay in an efficiency apartment and save a little money on meals. The common areas are really nice- lots of comfy couches and tables and a gameroom and heated pool. Our boys, 6 and 4, felt right at home and enjoyed playing with other hotel gue...''

''We stayed there during the off-season in late spring and paid $109 for an oceanfront room. Peak-season rates for the same room are twice that. Call me tight-fisted, but I'd never pay that much for lodging. With that said, we enjoyed our stay. The room was clean and nice; however, the cleaning staff didn't pay attention to the ''Do Not Disturb'' sign on the door and kept asking if we wanted towels. Good ocean access....''

The bar with live outdoor entertainment across the street was not an appropritate scene for my 12 year old. People were loud and drunk and started fighting when we arrived. The police were called as the fight spilled into the downstairs hotel rooms. The next night there was no fighting but still very loud music very late and drunks. Also the ''continental'' breakfast was a let-down. Packaged muffins,...''
