Hatteras Watersports rents Wave Runners and Jet Skis, and kayaks, which you can launch on the sound. Parasailing is also offered for those who want to soar high above the water. This is a great place to hang out, with a small beach, volleyball court, picnic area and restrooms with hot showers. Look for the big house on the huge lot.

We were given virtually no information from the character we dealt with other than the most basic instructions (''the boats are over there; life jackets in the bin next to the boats''). We were left to fish around for the life jackets in the bin - which was open on top and left out in the weather all year - and found the closest fit for our son on our own. It was way too big (the rest were either too small or way way too big), was damp, ripped, and stunk. The whole experience was miserable and we ended up cutting our time short and bringing the boat back early. The worst part was that there was an entire line of nice life jackets in the office when I went to sign off on the paperwork afterwards. I asked the employee working the desk how much they cost and he said they were there for people renting their equipment (!!)
By the way, we are a slightly older couple, from a vacation area ourselves, and so try to be considerate of other people who work in the tourism industry when we travel, but we are still angry over the way we were treated here, which is why I took the time to write this review. | |
