Blackbeard's Lodge was built in 1936 and is the oldest hotel on Ocracoke Island. Conveniently located 1 block off Highway 12, Blackbeard's Lodge offers 38 rooms and apartments, some with whirlpool baths. A swimming pool, bicycles and gameroom are available on-site for guest use.

A Wonderful Surprise Detour!

We had originally planned to spend an entire week camping but the weather did not cooperate and so we decided to check into a hotel. Blackbeard's Lodge was absolutely perfect! The rooms were clean and they have many different options and so we were able to stay in an efficiency apartment and save a little money on meals. The common areas are really nice- lots of comfy couches and tables and a gameroom and heated pool. Our boys, 6 and 4, felt right at home and enjoyed playing with other hotel guests. They also have wireless internet access.

The Lodge has a lot of character, too. There is the Blackbeard theme and it is a small hotel and the owners are attentive and helpful. We plan to stay there again in the near future and have recommended it to several friends since our return last weekend.

Nice older Lodge with a nice staff

Wife and I stayed here for a two nights stay and we were happy with our stay here. Any questions we had about ocracoke the staff was very helpful to answer. The location was great, but I dont think any location on this small island would be bad. Our room was nice and clean. Pool was kind of small, but your only minutes from the beach so who cares about that.
