''In June, my fiancee and I took a trip to the OBX. We were staying on Roanoke island, and took a day trip to Ocracoke. Near supper time, we asked a local where there was a good place to eat, since we didn't want to wait until after the long trek back to Roanoke to eat. He recommended the Back Porch, and was immediately (and enthusiastically) agreed with by another person (and fellow tourist) who had eaten there the day before. ''I've eaten there a couple of times, and am never disappointed. It IS quite pricey, but that's what I expect from Ocracoke. When a 20 oz of diet coke is $2.50, I know to expect to pay a lot more for a meal than I really want to. But, it's a decent meal on a BEAUTIFUL island, so I call it 2 thumbs up, overall....''
