A Must Read

Went online and made reservations for an efficency (Mon-Thurs.) I must say while the hotel room was somewhat aged. This place was very enjoyable!!! Very close to eats and shops. By the way, Dunes Resturant and Fat Joes WERE AWESOME!!!! Make sure that online rates reflect rates at check-in. Plus we were able to reserve our room for another night for a very reasonable price. Pool and Beach were not very crowded for August. Over All I would recommend this Hotel to friends.

I loved staying there

Stayed there every october for last 3 years.Clean rooms with good space.Clean bathrooms. Great view of the ocean.Nice staff.Yummy breakfast.Love the hottub.Great sound from the ocean at night,we leave the sliding doors to balcony open all night to here the ocean.WHAT A WAY TO RELAX!!!!

Wish I could be celebrating my birthday there!

My husband and I discovered this gem a few years ago while at the Outer Banks for my birthday. It is not a large impersonal motel which is a nice change. The staff are friendly and accomendating. We have always had a clean and comfortable room. We love the ocean front rooms as they have a private balcony. I will miss being there this October.

Fantastic Experience

My husband and I have been going there for about three years. It is a family owned motel, you are treated like family, the rooms are very spacious, and the staff goes out of their way to make your stay very memorable. Since we found this place, we do not stay anywhere else. We are headed there this weekend. They are the best.

What a wonderful find

I found Surf Side in one of those vacation travel guides. We were looking for something on the ocean side that was clean and had good value. Stayed at Surf Side once and have been back severtimes. We will never stay anywhere else. Rooms were clean, service at the front desk always friendly. We always get a room that faces the ocean, and we love the private balcony. Nothing more beautiful on a clear night with lots of stars and beautiful moon. You will not be disapointed with your stay.

Wonderful Anniversary

The staff at Surfside made us most welcomed. It was our first anniversary and our first trip to the Outer Banks. Other than no night life what-so-ever,the visit was pleasant. The Motel was worn but very clean. Our room was very comfortable and the location was very convenient for the areas we wanted to visit.

loved the loft

My husband and I, along with our 3 children (ages- 3, 2, and 1) stayed in the Surf Side Motel the spring of 2001. We LOVED the loft and the sitting area (although the railings do not apear to be up to date on code laws- we weaved the comforter through it to prevent any heads/bodies falling down). This hotel is right on the water, has superb views, and the sound effects the ocean offers at night are so tranquil! We enjoyed the indoor swimming pool and hot tub. We were close to all the local shopping and would gladly stay here again (especially if they'd offer a discount for my review ;) The bathroom seemed a bit small- but I was also 7 months pregnant- This was a great hotel I've recommended to family and friends.
