I thought this place was a lot of fun I actually went here by my self and ended up having a great time with the locals.. I recomend the she crab soup it was great!

Not as good as it used to be

We've been eating at Rundown since it was in it's old location - used to love it. Over the past couple of years it has slowly slid downhill especially in the quality of food and service. We kept going back hoping it was just a bad day and not wanting to give up one of our favorite local restaurants, but no more. I am sorry to report that Rundwon is not as good as it used to be - from the sticky table to the server who never returned during our entire (partially inedible - chicken sandwich was dry, stringy and fell apart upon the first bite) meal. Sadly Rundown just blends in with the rest of the turn and burn tourist trap restaurants in town. Maybe the bar is still good - as it's hard to mess up a beer!
Please Rundown - get it together and return to where you were 5 years ago!

We discovered this place 5 years ago and in our 2 weeks of vacation we eat there about 12 out of 14 days..the best salads and dressing and burgers anywhere !

My favorite restaurant, ever

I love this place. The Tuna Bites are to kill for, and if you like a good salad, definitely go for the Tuna Bites salad with their house dressing. When I was in college, I'd take a bottle of Journey's End with me to school, and have my parents get one for me to bring back after Christmas.

Rundown is a very nice family restaurant just off Rt 12 near the Kitty Hawk fishing pier. My family has eaten twice here in the past two years and the food and service has been great. I enjoyed the fish taco with black beans and hot jack cheese. MMMmmmmm. Plus their Bahama Mama drinks are delicious.

Very good appetizers too. Don't forget to try the Fish Bites!! My order for a family of four including a few alcoholic drinks, 3 appetizers, 4 entrées came to $90 which I consider normal for OBX.

Highly recommended!

This place is wonderful, it is small, but great. I had the fish tacos, the fish and produce were so fresh. I would recommend to anyone.

Our new Outer Banks favorite

Ended up eating here twice during our vacation. Liked sitting outside upstairs in the bar area. The kids could go down and play outside around the pond while we waited for dinner. which was fabulous both nights. A favorite was the coconut shrimp -- big and crunchy and slightly sweet. Also had the nachos (Gregory loved the black beans mashed up), tuna bites, garlic naan and beef satay. And the first night I had a salad with grilled mushrooms and fried eggplant. Might be my favorite salad out.
