The rooms are great, the service is great, and in my opinion it is the best place you could possibly stay on the outer banks.

Staff is excellent and right on the ocean is such a rare thing to find.

It's red brick and one-story. The oceanfront rooms have little porches and a wonderful view of the breakers. We had a poolside room and there was easy access to the beach. There is also a nice observation deck at roof-level. The Cavalier Motel boasts a big swimming pool, which comes in handy when there are rip current warning flags up at the beach. The parking lot is roomy with plenty of space to maneuver. An excellent restaurant, Port o' Call, is right across the street from the motel.
