There was water leakage as you walked into the building. The floors were nasty. As we got on the elevator and came to the floor of our room, there was a horrible odor and everything basically looked skank. Our room was extremely NASTY!!!! I would not recommend anyone taking the chance and staying at this location.

| Value: | | Service: | | Beds: | | | Quality: | | Food: | | | | Great Vacation | | By Koronin on 6/25/2007 | | We stayed at the Comfort Inn South, and over all I would say wasn't bad at all. We had a great room with a wonderful view from both the room and our balcony. The location was great. It gave us a good start to head to Hatteras to see the Hatteras Lighthouse and then to see Kitty Hawk as well as the aquarium. The only two complaints I really have are that one of the two elevators quit working. It was working when we got there Friday, but by Saturday morning it was not working. Also the bed was hard. We much prefer softer beds. However it was a nice place to spend the weekend at the beach and are planning on going again next year. | |

| BEWARE | | By a Guest Reviewer | | We were very disappointed with this Comfort Inn. The room was dirty. The shower had concrete and stains everywhere it was so bad that we were afraid to shower. The door and floor was not level. When the heater was turned on it spelled like burnt hair. The heater was full of dirt. The pool was closed and the fitness room consisted of 2 bikes and a treadmill that was broke. Their were 2 elevators, but only one was working. | |

| Wonderful Vacation | | By a Guest Reviewer | | I have to say that I just had the best vacation at the Comfort in. The room was clean, the staff was great and helpful and the view of the ocean from the private balcony was spectacular. I would recommend this hotel to anyone | |

| What a Vacation | | By a Guest Reviewer | | My family and I had a great vacation. The views were great the staff was great and where else do you get breakfast overlooking the oceanfront?! I would recommend this hotel to anyone! | |

| great ocean view | | By a Guest Reviewer | | although it was avery cold, rainey winter weekend; we had a nice time at this comfort inn. nice continental breakfast. large rooms | |

| No..find someplace else | | By a Guest Reviewer | Good location for my husband to fish we thought. We stayed the week of the 4th of July. They had OVERBOOKED, but we had our confirmation number. Gave us oceanfront for one night! BUT it rained and the window & ceiling LEAKED!!! We let them know-but they didn't do anything or even give us extra towels to mop up water. The pool was too cold to swim-and was not heated. There was TRASH from someone else under our beds!! The carpet was dirty. There was an extra pillow in dresser, but it looked used.
There was a coffee maker on top of the refrigerator. I moved it to put something there to place in the refrigerator. A COCKROACH scurried away. That was enough to GROSS me out! Last time staying here--go back to the small family owned motels. We have been vacationing OBX for 15 years!

| Good place! | | By a Guest Reviewer | | I probably stay here once a year to extend my vacation. It's a pretty decent value. Can't beat the location... it's on the beach and it's central to Nags Head and a very easy drive to Roanoke Island. Fairly clean, great staff. | |

| it just gets better and better | | By a Guest Reviewer | as always our stay was excellent!the staff and service was just wonderful we would and plan to stay there many more times in the future | |

| Accessability Poor and filthy | | By a Guest Reviewer | Was told that we could view the ocean from our room. All I could see was a wooden fence between me and the pool and no ocean was in sight. Could not get out the door because the bed blocked exit. Could not open curtains because I had no view from my wheel chair.
The bath room and other ceiling tiles were falling down. There was poop on the front of the tub. I was very displeased with the room and the bath rooms cleanliness. I left a note stating my complaints. When I returned home my husband called to complain and request a refund. We stayed only 1 night because our vaction was ruined. I was totally trapped in an unaccomodating room. How dare you say this was hadicapped accessable. I was totally appalled at the condition of the room. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. When a person pays over $200.00 for a hotel room for one night, they expect exceptional accommadations. I was very displeased. It was the first time my husband had been to the beach in 22 years. What a disappointment. I could not even go down to the beach area because the beach area was not accessable for hadicapped persons. There were steps leading down to the beach but no ramps. I felt helpless and disappointed because of this. My husband asked before we got the room. He was just plain out lied to by the manager.

| This hotel sucks and they are a rip off!!! | | By a Guest Reviewer | | I arrived at the comfort inn on Saturday 2-19-05. They were holding a Duck banquet. My husband walked in and asked the clerk behind the desk if they had any jaquzzie rooms. ''No sir.'' We went to the next hotel and the next hotel and i said let's go back to the comfort inn and i'll go in and ask. I asked for a jaquzzie room and a woman came around the front desk and said the presidential suite was open.. for $131.99 tonight and we have a nonoceanfront jaquzzie room available tomorrow night for $69.99. The other lady that was behind the counter as well arued with her saying the presitdental suite is not suppose to be available this week because they were working on the rooms. The other woman insisted we could have it. We pay $295.66 for saturday night and sunday night i the presidental suite. We get up stairs (5th floor) Filthy... Debree all over the floor, In the jaquzzie, counter tops. No remote controls for the TV. It took 37 minutes to fill the jaquzzie up (we were later informed by the maitnence man, ''they would not buy the right part to put on the spout'') No toilett paper... After complaining 5 or 6 times they said they would put us in the other room in the morning, they'd call as soon as it was ready. About 11:30 they called the room was ready on the 7th floor ''NONOCEANFRONT'' jaquzzie room. ''You may come and get your key mama.'' My husband goes to the front desk and they hand him $44.08 back. ''What's this?'' Oh it's your change for switching rooms.'' But we were informed that the room was only $69.99 a night and you are charging me $90.00. No sir there is no such thing at this hotel for $69.99. ''Can i speak to a manager?'' ''He's not in right now.'' He comes back up to the room This just messed our whole day up. The girl and guy at the front desk had no sence of what was going on, the manager was no where to be found, we didn't even get compisated for the inconviece or anything. I'll never go back and i made a note, took pictures and this will be handled in a different manner. I would not reccomend thid hotel to anyone. We will never give them our money again | |

| Best on the beach | | By a Guest Reviewer | | Cleanest rooms on the beach. Comfortable with large TVs. Great free breakfast. Very knowledgeable staff. Local YMCA passes are great on foul-weather days. | |

| My review of Comfort Inn North Oceanfront | | By a Guest Reviewer | | The Comfort Inn was as I would expect very nice and easy to find. | |

| Last resort | | By a Guest Reviewer | | The Comfort Inn North Oceanfront in Kill Devil Hills was a typical rundowned motel. We asked for a non-smoking room. We arrived late at night and were in a hurry to get to bed. The moment that our heads hit the pillow, there was no question that this was a smoking room. The pillows and blankets had a heavy smell of smoke in them. Horrible! We were already in our night clothes so we just had to bear with it. The toilet ran all night as well. Upon leaving the next morning, the elevator was slow to work. My son used it once to take some of the luggage down. He was lucky not to get stuck. It broke down. We then had to bring the rest of our luggage down 3 flights of stairs that were outside of the building. It was very cold, raining and windy. Definitely would not recommend this one. | |

| Very Friendly | | By a Guest Reviewer | | Briefly, the hotel staff was excellent, the hotel looked great. | |

| Good shore hotel | | By a Guest Reviewer | | The hotel and amenities were what you would expect for a beach property, nothing more or less.(Comfort Inn North Oceanfront) | |

| Mildewed and damp hotel, Check other | | By a Guest Reviewer | | We were moved to two different rooms during our stay at the Comfort Inn in Kill Devil Hills. Both rooms smelled of mildew and the carpets were wet. This is not the hotel to stay in if you are accustomed to clean rooms, high quality, and A+ service. Customer service at all levels did nothing to make us feel better about our stay. Check other reviews of this hotel on other sites. Many of those reviews mention the mildewed and damp carpet as well. Wish I had checked reviews before I booked this hotel. Avoid this hotel at all costs | |

| Room smelled of mildew | | By a Guest Reviewer | | The lower level of this motel had ceramic tile on the out door walk-throughs leading to the rooms which was very nice. But on the 2nd and 3rd flr the walk-throughs had a dirty looking in-door/ out-door carpet that looked very unpleasant. We were on the 3rd flr and the first thing noticed upon entering the room was the strong smell of mildew. We only stayed 3 days but used an entire can of disinfectant deodorizer trying to manage the smell. Even the bed spread and ironing board cover contain traces of mildew. Overall maid service was great at keeping clean towels available and cleaning the bathroom but the mildew made the room smell and appear unclean. Being right at the beach was very nice but for the price of the room this motel can do much better. | |
