No visit is complete without the pancakes at The Ships Wheel.

| Value: | | Service: | | Food: | | | Ambiance: | | | | Best Breakfast in Outer Banks | | By Melissa on 5/5/2008 | | My husband and I stumbled upon The Ship's Wheel for breakfast because it was only a couple of blocks from our hotel. What a find this place was. The prices are low and you get huge portions (I couldn't even finish my breakfast). We both had omelets with hash browns and toast which are not serviced on plates, but huge platters. We were so full that we couldn't even eat lunch later. The waitress was very friendly and checked on us regularly. The cooks were fast and the food delicious. Best bang for your buck. Would highly recommend. | |

It has been a staple of my North Carolina OBX experience for the past five years, and I can't imagine that changing anytime soon. This is, simply stated, the greatest breakfast establishment in Nags Head, and quite possibly the state of North Carolina. Huge portions, delicious specials (tomato & mozzarella omelet), friendly service, and lest we neglect...cool t-shirts available for purchase at the register (mine is neon pink). I've never walked out of the Ship's Wheel with anything less than a full stomach and a smile on my face. The perfect way to start a day on the Outer Banks. The Best.
