Party next to us were drunk and very loud and using foul language. Complaints were ignored because they were locals and they didn't want to offend them. The sevice was not good and the food was no better than average. No way worth the $300 check.

We don't mind spending money on food, but I am a pretty avid griller, have a ceramic cooker (which can get to 1000F) and I can but Mesquite hardwood myself.
We do not often encounter a restaurant steak better than we can eat at home, so rarely patronize steakhouses.
Well tonight, just by sheer force of will (and a little pouting) we ended up there, and were very pleased.
Tobacco Onion String appetizer shoed up piping hot, and not greasy (along with delicious hot thin rods of bread.)
Wife and I had the house special Kansas City cut (bone-in strip) while our less health-conscious daughter had the rib-eye. Our son ordered a seafood pasta (shrimp and scallops) and all were superlative and presented precisely as ordered.
Truthfuly, the rib-eye was more flavorful than the strips (to be expected) but the real secret of JK's is high-quality ingredients cooked simply and honestly.
I'd take this place over Morton's or Ruth's Chris any time.
Service was informal and friendly, yet very efficient. It was very LOUD though, but that is the luck of the draw based on your neighbors. The inexpensive Cab/Shiraz/Merlot by the glass went fine with the steak.

The ambiance is wonderful, the service excellent and the food delicious. It is a bit pricey for the average spender. I wish they still had the takeout availability. A rack of their dry rubbed St. Louis ribs are ''to die for''!!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! Everything was great. We went back our second night as well and again perfect again. The two best meals I have ever had under $30. I will visit the OBX again just to eat at JK's.

Soups, Salads, Steaks and other Entrees are all outstanding. The hardest part is choosing. I have never had a meal I did not rave about. So delicious. I go every time I am in the OBX. Ribs are unmatched anyplace else! Expansive Wine List will impress even the pickiest Wineauxs out there!

What a surprise! I have eaten all over the USD and Europe and I was apprehensive about buying a filet and spending top dollar only to be disappointed again. I was so impressed I asked about their source and now I know why it was so good. Aged Midwestern Beef from a top producer. Fantastic!

Their steaks can not be matched on OBX. Excellent service. Only slight bump - childs menu is not so hot. Other than that - it will become one of your favorites too!

Sometimes I just travel the hundred miles to the OBX just to visit JKs. It is a must on every food lover's list.
