We always make sure we get in at least one trip to Goombays. The food is great and the decor is fun. Possibly the best fish tacos I've ever eaten and I've eaten them all over the country. A word of warning though if you want the fish tacos...be very hungry as its a rediculous amount of food for one person. | |

| We LOVE Goombays! | | By a Guest Reviewer | | Goombays has been here on the beach for many years and there is good reason: Goombays is awesome! They serve tasty food with their own twist of spices (until around 10pm), including seafood from their steam bar (open until 1am) that is comparible price-wise to all the other restaurants around here. Goombays is also our favorite place to hang out on the beach when it comes to the bar scene. All the guys are so nice, especially (our favorite) Damian! The atmosphere is laid-back and the decor will definitely make you feel like you are at the beach. Goombays does close for a few months in the dead of winter, but if you come to the Outer Banks any other time... GO, GO, GO! You will enjoy yourself and meet plenty of interesting people... probably including us! | |
| Nice bar | | By a Guest Reviewer | | All I can speak on at Goombays is the bar. I go here after time is spent at a more rowdy or loud place, in order to wind down at the end of a night. They do close at 2:00 AM but normally gauge their last call very close to that time. They guys behind the bar are great, down to the frosted shot glasses (nice touch). I only wish the bar was bigger, but you are allowed to sit in the restaurant area late at night and just chat with friends over a final cocktail or beer. Cool ceiling and interesting local art. | |
