| Value: | | Service: | | Food: | | | Ambiance: | | Wine List: | | | | Fair! | | By JMac on 6/13/2008 | | It was OK but nothing to write home about. I dined on the garbage plate and the only complaint would be the canned pineapple. Service is great but atmosphere is just so-so. | |

| Value: | | Service: | | Food: | | | Ambiance: | | | | Stay Away! | | By Jason on 5/17/2008 | | This place was the worst in all aspects. The time we did not spend waving away flys was spent trying to choke down poor food. We got the ''Hawaii'' pork which whoever made it had never been to Hawaii. This was no different then the cheapest Chinese fried pork (and this is there speciality?). Also got the Pad Thai which was mushy and tasteless. When the waitress finally showed up and asked how it was I told her it was not that good and she said ''Yea most people do not like it but the ones that do really like it''. Why would you keep serving something most people do not like! Ughh there are lots of restaurant choices in town DO NOT go to this one. | |

| Value: | | Service: | | Food: | | | Ambiance: | | Wine List: | | | | Absolutely Wonderful | | By oceangirl79 on 12/12/2007 | | My family vacationed on the outerbanks in September 2006. We went to some really expensive places to eat. Then we discovered Mama Kwans. We fell in love. It was affordable, and the food was great. The pork is awesome. We will definitely eat there again when we vacation in June 2008. Don't miss out on a good thing!! | |

| Service: | | Food: | | | | Got sick from their food... | | By Sick on 10/2/2007 | | and when I asked the manager for a refund, he acted like I was lying. A $6.50 refund from a $100 check? Am a local and will never go there again. | |

| Value: | | Service: | | Food: | | | Ambiance: | | | | Best Place | | By Diane on 9/12/2007 | | It was the first place we all agreeded was AWESOME! We went to Mama Kwans. As everyother place we've been it, it was expensive (tho we're a family of 6). However, the atmosphere (great with children) was excellent; the service was FAST and excellent; the food was excellent! Lots of choices. The drinks, both alcoholic & non, are fantastic and fun. We will be going back on this vacation and all the rest! If you only go out to eat once, this must be the place you choose. | |

| Value: | | Service: | | Food: | | | Ambiance: | | | | Best discovery on our trip | | By Willyoubemymama? on 7/13/2007 | | We were at our wit's end trying to find a place that would be good for our three-generation family (10 months to 62 years) for dinner. When we found Mama Kwan's menu on the web, we were excited. When we got there and had dinner, we were thrilled. The ambiance is fun; our server was helpful and friendly and showed excellent timing. What's terrific is that Mama Kwan's focuses on the food and creates very tasty and memorable meals. Prices are slightly lower than many places in the OBX, and there is a LOT of food on every plate. In fact, caution to those ordering off the kids menu: might want to have your under-5 kids share a plate. Wine list looked good, although we did not partake. We did enjoy their unique, if short, bottled beer list. The pork plate is ''oh my goodness, when can I get back here to eat this again?'' good. | |

| Two Thumbs Up! | | By a Guest Reviewer | | Popular among tourists and locals alike, Mama Kwan's has it all... delicious food, good service, and the perfect atmosphere for beach lovers and bar go-ers. Like many people here, I highly recommend the Pork Platter (SO delicious!). Mama Kwan's will not disappoint! Another plus... they are open all year long... even in the middle of hurricanes | |
