Frisco Woods Campground of Hatteras Island is located on the Pamlico Sound and offers 150 RV sites, 100 tent sites and camping cabins with air conditioning. Hot and cold water is available, as well electric and sewer hookups. Also on site is a dump station, camp store, gameroom, playground, swimming pool, cable television, laundry facility, watersports and boat ramps. The campground is open from March 1 to December 15 and pets are allowed.
The Frisco Woods Campstore is the the ultimate campground store, but it's much more than that. Frisco Woods Campstore sells all the necessities: ice, drinks, groceries, snacks, gas, film, beach and camping supplies, hot coffee, beer and wine, and ice cream. They also feature local books, puzzles, games, gifts, T-shirts and souvenirs. Ask about windsurfing and kayaking lessons and rentals.

The folks on the phone when making reservations were very pleasant, and the picture on the website is very romantic, but do not be fooled! The campgrounds bayfront are about an inch apart, there are screaming kids all over the place, and the bathrooms smell awful like disenfectant! I forgot to present my AAA card when checking in, and to get my discount the next day I had to beg, and finally the woman at the desk threw my money at me! I canceled my next 2 nights with no refund. I left the place in tears. | |

A small portable ramp with a foot of run for every inch of rise would work wonders (example for a four inch step up a four foot ramp woud be required@ 15 degree angle | |
