We waited 2 hours for a table near the garbage can at the end of the deck. we waited another 30 minutes for our waiter matt to greet us. we informed him we needed seperate checks and he yelled at us no and kept going. we oredered mojitos (( bucks) they were weak and too sweet. our oysters were raw and sour and matt never brought us app plates. our dinner came out and matt never asked us for extra drinks. my wife had a filet well done and it was obviously rare. we had it sent back and it cameback done but with the came sides and microwaved. our plate were never cleaned we got our check had to split it ourselves, including a pre authorized tip for 6 people. after dinner we went to the bar where andy was awesome and now we will come back | |

However, we had such a terrible experience here that I stumbled across the reviews online and decided to chime in. We have been going to Sunset for years and have had enjoyable experiences. Looking back maybe we just drank a good bit before hitting up the restaurant...We booked our usual house by the Sunset in hopes of walking there to eat & drink as we did in the prior years. Our first night in Duck we went to dinner. We sat on the deck hoping for a spectacular sunset, however we were greatly disappointed. Our view consisted of litter stuck alongside their deck, and the smell was not that of the bay but of vomit. The restaurant's deck looked dirty from the serving areas to even our sticky, filthy table. The service was terrible! It took our server forever to even greet us then and even longer time to get our drinks. The food was extremely overpriced and just blah. We did not head back there after that evening and will not consider booking our vacation rental near it again. | |

However, one of the bartenders, Tim, was extremely rude to our party, many other parties and even his own staff. He cursed, was condescending and even threw our food away before it was touched. If he is working at the bar when you get there, do yourself a favor and ask for the other bartender Jesse, he is very helpful and funny as is the barback. | |

After that it went down hill. We order for the kids first so they could be fed and stated so a number of times it still took over an hour to get the food. No complicated orders, just a backed up kitchen and staff. On top they charged above average prices, but I guess that is why it is called a touraist trap. | |

Obviously from the word go our waitress was not concerned about the service she would provide to us because she knew she was going to get the 18% gratuity charged on groups of 6 or more. She was abrupt and rude when asked questions. When the bill came we asked for the bill to be seperated but she refused and said we had to figure out how much each party was paying because she could not do that. The food was OK but not worth the $170 bill for eight people to have dinner! We will not be back again. | |

Probably won't be back. Food is lame, everything taste like it came from the frozen food asile of the grocery store. Service has never been overly attentive. We usually go in April or October, but judging by the reviews, it is never very good. To many good places to eat to settle for this place. | |

My favorite it the seafood omelette accompanied by a mimosa. I've never had the sushi but the specialty drinks are pretty good. I've had the tuna oscar for dinner and it was just ok as was the steak oscar. We've never had an issue with service and we always travel in a large group of atleast 10. I think the restaurant and the view are quite nice. | |

It looked like the pipes burst at some point and never repaired correctly. Even the ladies rood smelled like a urinal.
I have to say the food was pretty good, despite these complaints, but I had a hard time enjoying my meal when I had to constantly guard my food from the flies. There were six flies on our table at one point! And the worst part was that the manager said that there was nothing she could do about the flies, though she did intend to see that the restrooms cleaned. | |
