The Island Bookstore sells established works of fiction, discount hardcover bestsellers, a wide variety of nonfiction, children's books, and specialty selections. The collection of works by Southern Authors and regional information is extensive, and you can also find audio books and jazz and blues on compact disc. All three locations are open year-round, special orders are welcome and they will ship books anywhere.

Fantastic Bookstore!

If you are a book buyer, then this is the best store on the barrier islands! It has everything for every family member. I also recommend using the Currituck County Library system which offers free library cards to seasonal visitors!

Best bookstore on the Outer Banks

For people who are interested in a terrific variety of books, from bestsellers to hard-to-find science books, this is the place to go. Unfortunately, the two locations on the northern banks are somewhat hard to find: one is located across from Elizabeth's Winery, buried in the back of the mall in the center of Duck, and the other one is off the road (Rt. 12) in the little-known original Corolla. I have been coming to the Outer Banks for 10 years and just discovered the bookstore last year! I recommend it highly to any serious book readers and also to people who want to get wonderful books for children.
