Best food at a gas station ever!

I was dubious about going into this unassuming place last week. But the place was packed and the food looked heavenly. I had the fresh tuna salad and homemade potato salad and it was the very best lunch I've ever had at the beach, bar none. The price was under $7 and so well worth it. I will always go there when I am down there!!!!

I've been going to OBX for many years and have owned a home in Corolla for the past three years so I frequent lots of OBX restaurants. This is the worst restaurant I ever eaten at in this area. I was shocked since I had read good reviews online at various websites. The steak was tough - there were two of us and both of us found the meat to be of a poor quality, the rest of the meal had no taste. It's the only restaurant I've been to in the OBX where the staff was indifferent, not warm and welcoming. Won't return there and definitely don't recommend it to my guests.

Pretty Bad for an OBX Restaurant

I have just read the reviews on this restaurant and was shocked. We ate there in the spring of 2007 and it was the worst meal (in terms of food quality) we have ever had in 8 years of visting the Outer Banks.

My favorite

The strip mall location is a little off putting but this is without a doubt my favorite food in Corolla. I've been three times 2 years in a row and I plan to keep going back. I've had the tuna steak wrapped in bacon and the filet wrapped in bacon on two seperate occasions and they were to die for. On another occasion I had the chicken cesear salad and a mango daquiri for lunch which was also very good. The manager/host was wonderfully personable taking the time to talk to us about out hometown and vacation plans. They told us (not sure if it was last year or the year before) that their chef was from Maryland. Being from Maryland ourselves we appreciated their delicious approach to seafood.
