Best Fried Chicken in NC

We have been customers of Smokeys since 1996. Each year when we come down, the first night we unload and head to Smokey's. It's clean, fast, friendly and low key. The Fried Chicken is great, the crabcakes are great, and they have NC BBQ and slaw, with a great homemade BBQ sauce on the table. Really good french fries, but try the sweet potato fries. They have good old fashioned home made ice tea, and you can get beer if you want. This is a friendly, family owned and operated restaurant, and families are very welcome. In all these years, we have never had a bad meal. Never over crowded, it's a great place. If you're looking for beachy kitsch, this is not your restaurant. If you are looking for a good meal, then Smokey's is your place. Tell them we said hi!
