The staff was wonderful, the owner was very friendly and dinner was one of the best I've ever had. We plan on going back every year for our anniversaries!

In many respects it is. The view and the toys are all there at your fingertips. Service was not good. We stayed in one of the rooms that was near to the office, When we asked if the could silence the fax machine, speak a bit softer on the telephhone that rang until midnight, we got no relief. The 5 course dinner was not worth the money. We have been going to Hatteras for over 20 years, from the DC area, so we know a bit about good food and hospitality. If you like to flaunt your status and have others adore you for your bucks..then this is the place for you. We appreciate they have to conduct business, but turn off the fax ringer and ask the night person to take their personal calls on the deck overlooking HWY 12.
Response:
This is not a valid or factual review. The review cannot be factually submitted from anyone who has actually stayed at the Inn, as the Inn has NO rooms by the office. The office is on a separate floor, completely away from all guest rooms. Based on submission date, this review appears to have been posted as fulfillment of a threat by a guest that canceled their four day reservation on one days notice. They acknowledged that they were fully aware of our cancellation policy as shown on our website and in their confirmation. Nonetheless, they demanded a full refund. We were able to refund them for nights that rebooked, but had to charge them for the nights that did not. They threatened to challenge the charge with their credit card company and to post poor reviews of the Inn if we did not comply with their directive. We responded that our cancellation policy has been 100% upheld in the only two credit card charge disputes we have ever had, and that we hoped they would think twice about submitting a fraudulent review. It appears that they nonetheless posted negative reviews here and on other review websites within days of their charges.

I was expecting a lot after visiting their website and I recieved that plus a lot more. The staff are polite, smart as a tack and take care of you like you were family. The breakfast served is some of the best but the dinner takes the perverbial cake. Chef Billy and Chef Bob know how to get it done. In short if you want the best vacation for you and yours make your reservation NOW!
