The Red Drum, serving Hatteras Island since 1954, is housed in a long strip on the east side of Highway 12. There's a tackle shop, a beach supply and grocery store, a gas station, an auto parts store, and an auto repair shop. They provide bait, tackle, supplies, gear, advice, and rod building and repair. Then you can go over to get all the groceries you'll need for the trip.
