Diamond Shoals is well known for its hearty breakfasts. Get here early for eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage and all the delicious sides you'd expect. It's also a popular dinner spot, with steaks, seafood, pasta, a salad bar and chef's specials. Lunch, including seafood baskets, sandwiches and burgers, is served in season, between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Diamond Shoals is a family-style restaurant with a friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. Everyone loves the big saltwater aquariums, especially kids.

| Service: | | Ambiance: | | | | VERY RUDE & WORST SERVICE IN THE OUTER BANKS!!!!!!! | | By felts OH on 10/3/2008 | | After waiting appx. 30 minutes to be seated, we had to wait to give our drink order, waited to get the drinks, waited to place our order, waited, and waited, and waited to receive our dinners...after waiting about a hour and half (without being served dinner OR seeing our waitress, we decided to leave. This is when the (very rude)hostess threatens to call the police on our family, including our two year old toddler for not paying for food that we NEVER received. She calls the manager and asks what she should do and fails to mention to them that we had been there almost two hours without being served. After the mgr. did find out how long we had been waiting, the problem suddenly went away and we left without incident. This was a very humiliating experience. No one should ever be treated in that manner. We will never return nor recommend Diamond Shoals to anyone! Absolutely Terrible Place to Go. And the Hostess should really learn some public releation skills. | |

| Value: | | Service: | | Food: | | | Ambiance: | | | | Better than most on Hatteras Island | | By Ries on 8/2/2008 | | This was one of the more enjoyable meals we had while visiting Hatteras though no meal was phenomenal. The stuffed shrimp was good, the crab legs were good, the green beans were good and the hush pupppies were good. The service was good. If you come to the Outer Banks and get stuck on Hatteras Island then this is one of the few places worth trying. | |

| Value: | | Service: | | Food: | | | Ambiance: | | | | By Dona Howland on 7/16/2008 | We spent a week in Buxton in 2007 right across the street from Diamond Shoals. We ate breakfast there every morning, absolutely delicious, great service, good price. We ate dinner there two nights and it again was outstanding. If we ever make it back to Buxton, Diamond Shoal's Restaurant is on our list of musts. | |

| Value: | | Service: | | Food: | | | Ambiance: | | | | By Two from Tennessee on 6/29/2008 | | Best hushpuppies of the entire trip! Everything on the seafood platter was fresh and hot with some of the best fish of the trip. My daughter had the linguine with shrimp and pronounced it delicious. This was highly recommended by our hotel manager. | |

I am very picky when it comes to seafood, and there is always something on the menu that I want! Its a great little restaurant, and its always interesting to find out what country your waitress is from! | |
