10 years of wonderful homes and great service. We love the Rothanthe/Waves/Salvo area for it's solitude, and beautiful beaches. Allows pets, so the mutt has his vacation too.
Just think! All you need is your clothes and personal items, the rest is there. Our next stay is in Hatteras, a treat for us. Keep one thing in mind.... a louse day at the beach always beats a day at work! | |

This is the first time traveling to OBX, everything about our trip was absolutely perfect. The accomodations were amazing from the time I made the arrangements until the end of our trip the service was impecable - any questions that I had were readily answered by a kind and knowledgable staff. We stayed at Durant Station and the facility was clean and the beach was beautiful and not too crowded. The facilities allowed for pets which was a wonderful addition to take our extended family :) Thank you for providing us with a truly relaxing family vacation. We will be sure to come again and recommend it to our friends. | |

Our second year using OBR our vacation was cut short by unforseen circumstances. Not only did the OBR team make sure that we were able to get home, but due to the circumstances, even sent a refund of their admin fee and our unused days. Imagine our surprise to find a check in the mail a week after we got home! We would never dream of renting from anyone else. This team is out of this world! If you want excellent service and beautiful homes, look no further! | |

In particular is the year that Hurrican Isabel roared through the islands. The folks at OBR did a great job of letting us know what the status was of our house and the status of the islands. Our visit was the following week but we still had a wonderful experiance. To be on the islands after a major storm is an experiance that I will always remember. Thanks to all of those at OBR who were honest and open during those times.
As far as the rest of the times we've visited, I can say that OBR has always responded promptly when there has been a problem. They have always been very helpful and I appreciate it very much.
Keep up the good work! We've really appreaciated it over the last 10 years. | |

The condo was spotless and very well stocked with anything you could possibly want. The OBR 'starter supply' was great along with the OBR bucks. They were well spent at Dolphin Den in Avon. We appreciate the 'no extra fees' and the fact that our two dogs were welcome there. Good thing there is an elevator there as we discovered one of our dogs had no clue what stairs were and refused to use them! Thanks so much for a great, carefree and relaxing week! | |

We had driven 14 hours and were going to arrive after the office had closed and they were great by leaving everything we needed in the lobby! Also, with them eliminating many of the extra fees I don't understand why anyone would choose anyone else! Great service, great house, and great price! Looking forward to next year! | |

Both times, the house was wonderful and any issues (hot tub malfunction, outdoor shower head clogged) we had were fixed quickly, within hours of notifying OBR.

After using a competing rental company for the first 8 years, we switched to OBR last year - and we're thrilled that we did. Many of the rental companies in OBX have great houses, but none can compete with OBR's service and professionalism. We called about a smoke detector that was beeping (low batt), and OBR had someone at the house within the hour.
The new ''Signature Elite'' concept is a wonderful idea. If you bring family dogs with you to OBX, I highly recommend Dick & Jane's Cottage. Keep up the good work! | |
| 9 of 14 people found this review helpful: | | Value: |  | Service: | | | | Bad experience | | By Copperjewel on 5/22/2008 | | This was my tenth year vacationing in the Outer Banks and I have used just about every realtor available and could not have imagined a worse experience than I had with Outer Beaches. I placed an advance year reservation for a house and was called four days before we were to leave for our vacation and told that the house I had originally chosen was damaged and we would not be able to have it for the week. Although I would have preferred more notice, I accepted the fact that they cannot control these things and chose another house from a very small list of available houses in our price range. None of the houses were nearly as nice as the original one and none of them were in a location that we would have preferred. We made the best choice we could and decided to try and make the best of it. When we arrived at the new house we had chosen we noticed that the pool was dark green, the hot tub did not work and the AC was broken. I also understand that these things happen but I don't think it would have been too much to ask if the realtor might have checked these things before we arrived since we were obviously the first renters of the season for this property. Instead after we complained to three different people about the hot tub not working, my husband finally had to personally go into the office and ask to have it fixed. They eventually did fix it, by our fourth day but this to me is not satisfactory. We spent the first four days of our vacation with various repairmen who repeatedely woke up my daughter from her naps and just basically disrupted our vacation. We had the AC repairmen arrive at 10 am one morning without warning or our permission. They were there for most of the day. I fail to see why they couldn't have repaired the AC on a day when the house was not occupied. Like maybe the four days before we arrived or the day we checked out considering most of the week the temp never got above 70 degrees. Again, I realize the realtor cannot help the fact that things need to be repaired but spending four days of our vacation with repairmen and a house that isn't ready for renters is unacceptable. I will not be using this realtor again. | |

We have rented with them for the past three Outer Banks vacations. They are VERY helpful and accomodating. They have very high standards, so I am confident that the unit that I rent will be comfortable and CLEAN!

I happened to mention that we were coming for our honeymoon on the phone when we booked the house; when we arrived, there was champagne for us! During our stay, the hot tub didn't work, so we called the office. Someone was out to fix it the next morning.
Lovely, classy home with all the amenities of a beach cottage. I would highly recommend this to my friends and family! | |

We have stayed in the Frisco area for 8 years, 5 years with OBR. This was the first year I've had to call on them (light bulbs, remote control, batteries). They were over within a half hour!!! They are very helpful with house selection, early check-in, and when problems arise (i.e. broken dishwasher when we arrived or a lost key). We've been very pleased with the 3 houses we've stayed and and will not even consider renting from another companies. The first year we rented we contacted a few other companies; they were not helpful and didn't seem to want to rent to us. Their loss! My gain - because I've been nothing but pleased with my interactions with Outer Beaches. As a part of early check-in we've met the cleaning staff a couple times, and they've been very accomodating and nice. Especially appreciated since we usually arrive after driving for 15 hours straight through the night. I look forward to booking my next rental with them - who knows it might be this week! | |

We've rented from at least 3 other rental agencies in the OBX. This was the first time we had a problem with our rental house, and Outer Beaches responded professionally, relocated us to a much larger house with more amenities for the same price.
I have no idea how the other rental agencies would have responded, but I KNOW how Outer Beaches did. They saved our vacation. | |
