Review Guidelines
Basic Review Guidelines:

Your review should focus on specific aspects of the business you are reviewing. Do not simply state you liked or disliked the business - be specific.

The best reviews include not only whether you liked or disliked a business' products or service, but also why.

DO NOT TYPE IN ALL CAPS!

Do not mention competing company names in your reviews. Focus on the company you are reviewing, and if you wish, leave a review about the other companies on their directory listings.

Do not comment on other reviews - respect their position and write your own, but do not argue with others.

Do not use profanity or post spiteful remarks.

Do not write a review that is less than 50 words in length. The goal of a review is to share your experiences with a particular company - very short reviews do not accomplish this.

Do not post phone numbers, email addresses or URLs.

Do not post inflammatory reviews - stop and put yourself in the shoes of the owner of the business you are posting about.

Do not post many reviews about one business. Doing this will cause all of your reviews to be deleted.

Remember, you are responsible for your words.

Adding new reviews is currently disabled while we work on launching a new website.

We had a great lunch
By Laurie on 9/20/2008
Our waitress was a bit busy, but she made time to explain the specials. We enjoyed the 25 cent wings. I had a great burger, with what I call ''real'' french fries and my husband had one of the flat sandwiches with tuna, olives and feta cheese. There was enough for lunch the next day! This restaurant came recommended by one of my husband's customers, who is a local. I don't think he steered us wrong.

Rude plus lousey food equals disaster!
By Harriett Family on 9/13/2008
My family and I had eaten here in the spring. It was great and we really had a good time. This time however the staff and folks at the bar were rude, actually acted as though they were doing us a favor by waiting on us. By the time the food arrived it looked as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp for 20 minutes. This place isn't cheap.. Needless to say we won't be back.

Not just bad service, No service
By Horne Family on 9/2/2008
I would like to write a review of their food, however, the waitress was so rude to us we didn't even sit down. My wife and I stopped by for breakfast and was directed to a high (bar type) table in the corner, when we asked to sit a a low table the waitress told us that was all she had for us because they get very busy on Sunday and all the open lower tables are for (4) people. This wouldn't have been a problem, however, their was another couple (2 people), sitting at a low table for (4). When we asked why they were sitting at a table for (4) she again stated that the high table or the bar was all she had for us and we could leave otherwise.... Sad to say, she was having a bad day or has never heard of the saying the customer is always right in the service business. - Disappointing to say the least.

Good lunch with great value on daily specials
By Ries on 8/2/2008
The goat cheese salad was good, the veggie wrap was good, and our ten-year-old loved the 25 cent wings. His meal costed a whopping $3.00 and he really enjoyed it. You can't beat that value. The service was good as well.

Fantastic in all ways !!!
By obxfish77 on 2/19/2008
I stopped in for the nightly special (Monday - Prime Rib). It was about a 9oz steak with potatoes & veggies for $9.99. The food was cooked right & tasted great. The service was friendly and helpful. Check the wine list also.

Worst breakfast ever
By tdgh1967 on 11/5/2007
Went here for breakfast on our first morning. This had to be the worst tasting food I have ever ate. For 2 orders of biscuits and gravy, one ham, egg, and cheese biscuit and three drinks, it was $29. Could barely finish because it was so bad! Good thing we hadn't eaten since the day before!!

Breakfast review
By j&r on 7/19/2007
The breakfast we had here was not good at all and we actually left there feeling a little ill. Their sanitation score, we noticed, was only 91.0. It just didn't feel clean and wasn't satisfying. Disappointed - we love breakfast. The service was friendly, though, and the OJ was good.

Great for lunch or dinner!
By LoveTheCoast on 4/29/2007
The lunch-time salads are superb, as are the burgers. The seared tuna app is the best I've had anywhere. The staff are down to earth and fast with a beer. Small setting means it can get loud, but the atmosphere is great, esp. the bar.

Food seemed like every other fried place; ie Hodad's, Bubba's,Fish House, Buoy's....no real signature items on the menu.

Just a good time
By a Guest Reviewer
I visited the Oceana's in July of 2006 with my Fiance, and found that the food, service and atmosphere we all together a great experience. We had walked in on some karaoke and took in the many versions of songs that the other patrons had put their own twist on. We loved the quaint beachy feel of the lounge and do plan on revisiting one of my favorite places in the OBX next summer. I really recomend taking your party to the Oceana's for a great time.
