The name says it all. Topper's offers pizza with hand-tossed dough and homemade sauces, calzones, pasta dishes and salads. The atmosphere is warm and friendly; you'll want to hang out. There's a good selection of beer and wine. Lunch and dinner are served.

Best pizza away from home

My family has beed going to the OBX for about 15 yr and we LOVE Toppers. We eat there at least 2-3 times, the first night for sure and one for the road. Love it!

We decided to go out for pizza o night, and Toppers was close so that's were we went. The people working there were very friendly and nice. The food was amazing, and the price was great too. We have started to make it a tradition to stop there every year!

Whenever we come to Avon on our vacation, we always go to Toppers. We LOVE Toppers and the food is absolutely terrific !!

great place to eat... love it!

If you're tired that first night after a long drive to Avon then this is the place to grab a pizza and relax at the house. Go for the Heavyweight or the Big Easy (or one of each like we usually do!). The staff who work there have been great and provided consistently good service over the years. (That's one of the problems with some of the other places in town... consistency.)

We love love love Toppers! They have the best food on Hatteras Island. They are always trying to improve their decor and their dishes, too....only one problem this spring so far....what happened to the CRUST? It is not the same. The last 2 times we were there, it was thin and crusty. Before, it was always perfect! We will still go back, but we will ask for the ''old'' crust'' before we get pizza...

Best darn pizza in OBX! Crust is perfect. Atmosphere is even good...most pizza joints have paper plates at best...these guys use nice plates, real silverware, nice glassware...top notch--not too expensive. GREAT service too!

Didn't go inside, but had pizza delivered to the house. The prices are reasonable and service was quick. The pizza itself was pretty good with fresh tasting ingredients.

Toppers had good pizza. As others have stated, the prices are high, but for Hatteras not bad. The appetizers were great. Service was OK, but not terrible.

The Best Around

Toppers by far has the best pizza anywhere from Chicago to New York to OBX!!! Open year round, never a disappointment! The staff is nice, too. Only complaint would be the smoke at the bar...but it would not stop me from eating there!

No one claims that this is an upscale eatery, but when looking for fresh ingredients and great taste (not to mention a beer with your dinner), Toppers cannot be beat! We normally eat here once a week while in town, and more often in the off-season when there's little else open.

Toppers Pizza was a great dining experience! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was very relaxed and casual. We enjoyed thier selection of beer and wine as well as the wide variety of delicious, fresh pizza! To die for! We can't wait to go back!

Pizza was so so. Lot of topping choices but not rave reviews from the troops.
