Stretching about 600 feet into the Atlantic Ocean, the recently renovated Avon Fishing Pier offers excellent fishing plus a pier house store selling fishing gear, bait and tackle, drinks, sandwiches, gifts and T-shirts. You can also rent fishing gear if you need it. All-day fishing passes or just sightseers. Ask about the October drum tournament and the August children's tournament. The Avon Pier closes in the winter months.

I love this beach and the Avon Pier, I have been going there since second grade... I love it still, it never gets old! The pier is so relaxing and fishing off of it is great fun.

Ladies...if you want to get rid of your husband for hours...send him here. LOL My husband loves the pier. He would go out fishing when the kids were napping and had a great time catching fish and talking to everyone. The kids also love to go out and walk on the pier and look at what people have caught. The staff is very friendly and helpful too.

If you want to live like the locals, go get your rod and reel and go fishing off the pier! You are bound to meet up with a local fisherman who is just relaxing there.
