great seafood breakfast

We only ate breakfast here last time in town but can't wait to go back. There was so much crab coming from the omelet it was falling out. Great service and very friendly. It certainly is a place to seek out even though I would like to keep it a secret. It is small and crowded for a good reason. Locals eat here too.

We LOVE this place - we've only been to the area (Wrightsville and Wilmington) a couple of times, but this place is now definitely on the ''must do'' list. We only ate breakfast there so far, but I'm sure their other meals are great, too. Anytime you see a line out the door on a weekday, of locals, you know it's good. We were there off season, too. Eggs benedict made with crab!! Shrimp and grits!! And one of the few, if only, places that lets you order a half-order on the eggs benedict. They have all the usual breakfast stuff, too - pancakes, omelets, etc, but when we go to the beach we try to work seafood into every meal. The waitstaff are friendly in a relaxed, warm, natural manner. And the prices are great.

Great Breakfast at the Beach

The Causeway Cafe is one of the places that I always make sure to eat at when I am at Wrightsville Beach. They offer a great breakfast/brunch & lunch. (Although, I have to admit I haven't eaten off the Lunch menu.)
To see if a restaurant is good and worth the price on the menu, particularly in a vacation destination, check to see where the locals eat. And you can always find a healthy mix of the local crowd in with the seasonal visitors at the Causeway.
Okay, true, I used to live at Wrightsville. But you will find me at the Causeway one of the mornings I am back in town.
