A BIG SURPRISE

Fantastic. Tastfully appointed with a significant antique collection. the Inn has many of its original features. Renovations have been done seemlessly not to affect the architectural design of the home. Very attentive staff. Fantastic Breakfast. A very warm welcome. A very beautiful home away from home. The suite is a huge value and can easily accomodate a family.

Can't wait to go back!

The Taylor House Inn Bed and Breakfast is a wonderful getaway. We lucked into this B&B over 10 years ago and have made it a yearly tradition. It almost feels like going home to meet family. Scott and Karen are wonderful innkeepers. Scott is a lively, personable person who is not only helpful in restaurant suggestions but is delightful to spend time on the porch with. The house is amazing and located so that you can walk everywhere in beautiful historic Wilmington. We just got back from a trip there in August and I am already planning our trip there for next year.

We're already booked for another holiday

We were referred to Scott and Karen when another inn in Wilmington at which we had stayed once before was being sold. We have stayed at the Taylor House Inn 7 times, the last time being Memorial Day weekend of 2006. The rooms are lovely and comfortable with antiques and other fine furnishings. The breakfasts are fabulous with warm, fresh baked muffins of several varieties and a fresh fruit dish followed by the main course which varies and is always delicious. Scott and Karen are very helpful with suggestions for sight-seeing, shopping, and dining. They make reservations for guests and have never steered us wrong for dinner. We love every visit to this delightful inn and can hardly wait the few weeks until our next visit in October.
The location of the house is perfect for foot tours of this historic city. It's just a 10 or 15 minute walk to the riverfront and each time you go downtown you pass the fabulous Bellamy mansion. On several trips we have not even cranked our car until the end of our trip.

They call themselves ''hosts''

I agree with another review I read...the most inhospitable ''hosts'' you can imagine. Everthing we asked for seemed to be a hassle. You go to a B&B to be pampered...not to be a disposable pamper.

Never again

The couple who runs this B&B were very unpleasant, inhospitable, and unfriendly. Not the best combination for a service-oriented business. The woman (Karen) barely said two words to us, and the man (Scott) couldn't have been any less accomodating. I definitely do not recommend this B&B.
