Review Guidelines
Basic Review Guidelines:

Your review should focus on specific aspects of the business you are reviewing. Do not simply state you liked or disliked the business - be specific.

The best reviews include not only whether you liked or disliked a business' products or service, but also why.

DO NOT TYPE IN ALL CAPS!

Do not mention competing company names in your reviews. Focus on the company you are reviewing, and if you wish, leave a review about the other companies on their directory listings.

Do not comment on other reviews - respect their position and write your own, but do not argue with others.

Do not use profanity or post spiteful remarks.

Do not write a review that is less than 50 words in length. The goal of a review is to share your experiences with a particular company - very short reviews do not accomplish this.

Do not post phone numbers, email addresses or URLs.

Do not post inflammatory reviews - stop and put yourself in the shoes of the owner of the business you are posting about.

Do not post many reviews about one business. Doing this will cause all of your reviews to be deleted.

Remember, you are responsible for your words.

Horrible Experience
By Reasonable Customer on 2/19/2008
Sunday night was my first time eating at Hiro's and it shall be the last time, as well. My friends and I waited over an hour to be seated, although that was our choice, and the receptionists weren't very friendly or pleasant. We weren't actually told that our table was ready until I finally went forth and inquired about it. Once seated, we waited two hours before our chef showed up. It turned out that one person (some stranger to the rest of us) at our table of 9 people had requested a specific chef. This wasn't even discussed with the rest of the patrons at this particular hibachi table. Our waitress rarely made an appearance, and she insisted on serving everyone from the opposite side of the table, causing the patrons to have to reach across one another to receive our soups and salads. We later discovered that the restaurant was short-staffed for the evening. I wished that we had been informed of this while we were waiting in the lobby. We could have gone somewhere else to eat in a more suitable, timely manner. Also, it is absurd for anyone to be able to request a specific chef, much less without it being first consulted with the rest of the members of a table for approval, causing the other patrons (strangers to the requestor) to have to wait to be fed. If someone wants a specific chef, that person should have to wait in the lobby until that specific chef is ready, while everyone else can go ahead and be served by the chef who is ready at that moment. Also, the layout of the hibachi grill room is overly crowded. The backs of our chairs were often hit by the people seated behind us, as they slid back to get up from their table.
As forthe food, it was certainly nothing spectacular to cause anyone to return. That is not meant to be a personal assault on the chef. He is merely taught to cook that way by the restaurant's corporate standards. The food wasn't necessarily bad, except for the fried rice, which had virtually nothing in it. It was supposed to contain ample amounts of diced carrots, peas, and scramabed eggs. My serving consisted only of soy sauce and fried white rice.
If I hadn't been confined by the three other members in my party, I would have walked out and left the bad memory of this experience behind me. Unfortunately. my waitress (or any other passing restaurant employee) was nowhere to be found, so I wasn't able to cancel my order before the chef arrived. My suggestion is to find somewhere else to eat, or stay home. By the way, the Restaurant's sanitation rating was a 96.5. FYI: a restaurant manager can take a county health department test (Serv-Saf test) and acquire 2 more points for a restaurant's sanitation score. So is this a 96.5 or actually a 94.5? ... Food for thought.

Fun Experience with Great Food
By Darcy on 6/4/2007
I love going to Hiro's - the chefs are so entertaining and the food is great! Their sushi is also really good. They have a deal where you can share a dinner and buy an extra salad, soup and dessert for the 2nd person, which saves a lot of money - and is still plenty of food for both! Don't forget to call ahead for reservations though, because they are always packed.

Definately can't wait to go back

Hiro's is an excellect place to have a good time. I recommend definately waiting for the hibachi seating, but be prepared waiting for a while. The prices are extremely good for the food and entertainment. For around 20 dollars, you will definately leave stuffed...and will probably get stuffed again with the leftovers you bring home.
