Can't wait to go ELSEWHERE

Pros: None

Cons: Old Run down, noisy Hotel

Was told it was a ''family'' type atmosphere, HA!, teens running around all night, hollering and partying all night, and the big thing was I was told no drinking was allowed, but everywhere I looked were beer bottles and people drinking. A big mistake on my part to try this place and it will definately be the last. Be Warned!

OUTSTANDING

The rooms were clean, the staff was super, and housekeeping has their jobs down to a tee, attitude and all. My husband and I really enjoyed staying with these fine folks. And we really loved talking with the british lady.We will definently be back. Thank you for allowing the two babies to stay with us, that went a long way. Deanna Williams

This is the place my husband and I went after we were married in 1962,We have come here ever since we have been married,except a few times because of illness.We look forward every year to come and enjoy the beach at the Surfside Motor Lodge

We love CB & Surfside Motor Lodge!

My g/friends and I were there again in Aug 05 and no, it was not the same. The house wasn't the as clean or well-kept as in years past. BUT...SML has new owners & we're giving it another shot this Aug...too many GREAT memories. I encourage all CB lovers to give it one more chance before giving up the Surfside!

Well They are redueing the area but the place wasnt that bad. We had clean towels,sheets and the maid service was there everyday incase anything else was needed we could just tell her. The landry access was easy to get to anr pools on each side of us. It was perfect setting and management was very friendly. We had room 50 oceanfront second floor. Might have been second floor but I liked it alot. Every morning I went ouit to watch the sunrise and one morning we sat out there and watched four whales in the distance , it was cool. At night I would sit out there befor I would go to bed and listen to the ocean, it was so relaxing. Yes people did drink at this place but geesh your at the beach they are there for fun too. It wasnt to bad and noone was out of control. I would definatly stay there again

NOT SURE WHAT ITS LIKE NOW

I AND MY PARENTS USED TO GO TO CAROLINA BEACH EVERY YEAR SINCE I WAS A SMALL CHILD. WE ALWAYS STAYED AT THE SURFSIDE MOTOR LODGE. MY DAD WAS A BIG FISHERMAN AND IT WAS EASY FOR HIM TO WALK TO THE DOCK AND GET ON THE ''MUSICMAN'' BOAT CHARTER WITH THE GUYS AT 5AM OR SOONER EVERY MORNING DURING OUR STAY. WE HAVE STOPPED THE FAMILY VACATIONS SINCE MY DADS HEALTH HAS DECREASED, BUT I STILL HAVE ALL THE MEMORIES OF SURFSIDE MOTEL. I COULD TELL YOU EVERY DETAIL ABOUT THAT PLACE. IT IS SO GREAT! I DONT CARE HOW RUN DOWN IT GETS. JUST TO BE ABLE TO GO THERE KNOWING IT HAS BEEN THERE SINCE I WAS A KID IS GREAT! I LOVE SURFSIDE!

Surfside was resonably priced, clean and within walking distance to EVERYTHING! The people were very friendly. The rooms were super clean. It was nice to open the back door and hear the ocean at night.

Unbelieveable views! Very close to the waves! Fantastic value! I go to the beach to enjoy the ocean. There are motels everywhere, but if you like the ocean; THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!!!!

My girlfriends and I have been going to Carolina Beach and staying @ the Surfside for the last 6 years! Very laid back atmosphere, clean rooms, helpful staff...what could be better???

Good Choice for those on a budget!

This hotel met and exceeded our expectations! Very happy w/ condition of rooms and surrounding area. Great access to beach area. They have a least 2 nice sized pools that we saw and both were very clean and in good condition. Parking was not as jammed tight as some of the other hotels in that area on Carolina Beach.

Been there for the last time!!

We have stayed here for 15 years, but NEVER AGAIN!! I understand that the motel is in the process of being sold, and apparently the owners no longer care about it's condition. The 'cottage' where we have stayed several times in the past was dirty and in dis-repair. We had hoped that the old washing machine and dishwasher would finally be replaced, but no such luck! The rates have continued to increase and the service continues to decline. We were lucky to receive clean towels each day and only received additional cleaning if we specifically asked for it. We love the beach location, but will be looking for a new place next year.

Very nice at a cheap price

Everything was clean the service great even had a pool to swim in if you got tired of the ocean,Clean beds,nice housekeeping and the owner was super nice and accomadating during our stay,even told us some places we might like to try and eat at.
