The place is decent for a beach vacation but not what we were expecting. The elevators are creaky and slow, the mini fridge was hardly adequate for a family of 4, the pull-out sofa was abominable (plus no extra sheets or blankets) and the the pools were not clean. Wish we had spent the extra few dollars to stay somewhere else. | |

The motel was CLEAN, the staff was FRIENDLY, the food was GOOD, the price was RIGHT! Very relaxing, every room is beachfront and live music at the TIKI BAR! Cannot believe how lucky we were to come across this place, I would not hesitate to return. Short drive to historic downtown Wilmington! Most of the guest I met are return visitors to the Golden Sands and many live in the state of North Carolina! Great place! | |

This was our first experience there. We were really impressed. We did not have to leave the premises for anything while we were there. With a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, we could prepare breakfast in our room and enjoy the grill for other meals. We had entertainment each night at the TIKI BAR and a great view of the ocean from our balcony. And don't forget the indoor pool and jacuzzi. Our mini vacation was like being on a cruise ship without having to leave land. We plan to make this our beach destination for many times to come. | |

We then went to The Golden Sands. For only about $20 more we received a CLEAN, SPACIOUS, and did I forget to mention CLEAN room. It was amazing the difference. The first motel we rented, we didn't even put our bags on the floor before we decided to leave.
I honestly have to say this Motel was a life saver. I am funny about were my kids lay their heads as I hope everyone is. This place was very comfortably and I had no problem letting my 11 month old walk on the floor. The view was nice and one of my favorite experiences was eating outside at the ocean grill. This was something my 4 year old enjoyed.
In a nut shell if you are planning to stay at the beach, I strongly suggest going to the Golden Sands Motel | |

My family stayed at the Golden Sands on Carolina Beach this past weekend.
It was wonderful!
Because we were traveling a distance by car, it was late when we arrived. The gentleman ,who checked us in, was very nice. He even called over to their restaurant and asked them if they could accomodate us, even though it was closing time. Which they did!!
Our room was very clean and comfortable. Sometimes, we don't get enough towels in hotels for our five-member family and when we ask for more it is a hassle. Not here. They accomodated our every request with politeness and efficiency.
I felt safe at this hotel because their security measures were enforced.
There were several valet carts available for luggage.
The jacuzzi pool was a little cooler than I expected but that is only a minor problem. I reccommend this hotel to anyone. If we were ever in the area I would definitely go back! | |
