The Island Gallery

The town of Manteo is home to one of the oldest galleries on the Outer Banks, simply named The Island Gallery. Established in 1967, the gallery displays the work of more than 100 regional and local artisans, and the work includes everything from sculptures to jewelry, photography to prints, and woodcuts to etchings. Nationally known artists display their works here too, like Albert Swayhoover and P. Buckley Moss, and for art lovers in a holiday mood, the gallery is shared with Manteo's famous Christmas Tree shop in a 30,000 square foot location.
