Central Outer Banks Art Galleries
The oldest and most popular area of the Outer Banks, including Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills and Kitty Hawk, also has one of the widest selection of galleries. In fact, Nags Head even has its own "Gallery Row," a street speckled with galleries that stretches between the beach road and the bypass, Hwy 158.
Visitors to this area of the Outer Banks will find no shortage of galleries to explore, with work inspired by pretty beach days, classic cottages, and a long history of happy vacation memories.
Beyond the Beach

Beyond the Beach is a sister store to Currituck's Beach Bums, and features a large selection of works from local artists, which includes unique gifts, unique jewelry, and one-of-a-kind pieces.
Their signature work is their Starfish pottery, which will evoke memories of the beach for years to come. Located on the Beach Road across from the Hilton Garden Inn in Kitty Hawk, beach goers can step off the shore and explore the gallery.
KDH Cooperative Gallery & Studios
502 S. Croatan Hwy
This gallery is a unique cornerstone of the local art community, and features a cooperative showcase of local Outer Banks artists' work, which includes paintings, mosaics, pottery, sculpture, candles, collages, and everything in between. In addition, classes are available throughout the year for anyone who wants to explore their own artistic inclinations, and studios featuring artists working on their craft, including a local blacksmith, show the creative process at work.
The Bird Store

Nature and art lovers alike will flock to The Bird Store, which has been a Kill Devil Hills fixture for more than 20 years. The store evokes a classic Nags Head feel, with shelves lined with antique decoys, fishing and hunting collectibles, and modern regional and local works. Every local species seems to be represented here, with carvings and paintings featuring the shorebirds, herons, ducks, fish, egrets, and songbirds that call the Outer Banks home.

Seaside Art Gallery

The Seaside Gallery offers one of the Outer Bank's widest varieties of pieces, with over 2,000 original works for sale, from local to international artists. Besides these original works, antique lovers can peruse estate jewelry and antiques, and chat with the on-site fine and animation art appraiser. The gallery also hosts one of the best miniature art shows in the nation every year in May. Celebrating its 50th year in 2011, the family owned gallery is as old as the town of Nags Head itself, and hold just as much charm.

This distinctive gallery has been on the Outer Banks map since 1969, and features a variety of works including scenic photographs, local art, maps and prints. Historical works can be found here too, including Civil War and Natural historical pieces. Custom framing is available on site, and a host of local artists are featured, including Hudson Williams, Linda Browning, Ray Matthews, E.M. Corsa, Robin Rogers, Eve Turek, Judith Bailey and more.
