We sat on the covered porch for Sunday brunch buffet; however, there was a leak that dripped on my husband our entire meal. Also, the restaurant was not prepared for the Mother's Day rush. I had to wait ten minutes plus in line for a plate (along with many others), and there were no eggs, fruit, or bread available for anyone in my party. Half of my party received their omelets thirty minutes after the others, and it took forever for us to get drinks. Also, the coffee was burnt and disgusting, and other buffet items were cold. I will never spend another meal at this restaurant. Our waitress was pleasant, and I felt bad for her because it was obvious that she was over extended; however, two other waitresses were cranky and slamming the porch door. It was an unpleasant environment.

| Value: | | Service: | | Food: | | | Ambiance: | | | | WORST EVER!!!!!! | | By Becky on 5/11/2008 | If I could choose a star rating below zero, I would.
Worst service of my entire life. They didn't have enough plates for all the people they crammed in the restaurant. There wasn't enough silverware, so we had to eat our entire meal with spoons. There were no cups, so we had to go an hour without drinks. When we got the drinks, the orange juice was so watered down it was almost clear. The hostess called me a b**** and slammed the door. When we tried to complain to the manager, she turned her back and walked away from us. When we asked for the owner's number, she threaten to call the police. It was the absolute WORST experience I have ever had. When we complained, we were nice about it, but the manager would have nothing to do with it. Repeatedly, she ignored us. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. It is by far, the worst place I've ever been--and all of that cost me 81 dollars. They would ony give us two dollars off for the hostess calling me a b*****.
I hope this place gets shut down. If you want the same quality food for way less of a price I recommend McDonald's, Golden Corral, or even your local landfill.

| Value: | | Service: | | Food: | | | Ambiance: | | | | You will not be disappointed!!!! | | By Guest on 5/10/2008 | | You MUST make reservations no matter when you plan to go. It is one of the best restaurants on The Crystal Coast in terms of food and probably the top of the list in terms of location. Beautiful and delicious! | |

| Value: | | Service: | | Food: | | | Ambiance: | | Wine List: | | | | Menu has changed! | | By GC Regular on 2/21/2008 | | We used to dine at the Gourmet Cafe regularly until they changed their menu. Most of the pasta dishes were removed. I was so disappointed at how many of the dishes were changed that I actually didn't find anything I wanted to order. I ended up getting something I normally wouldn't have ordered. The dish was very good; however, I probably won't be back because I miss the seafood pasta dishes. Best of luck to the restaurant. | |

We always enjoy the atmosphere and the food is always wonderful. Service is awesome. We are even having are Rehersal dinner at the tiki bar downstairs. I think it will be a beautiful, quiet and private atmosphere. Management is great to deal with. Very nice people!

| Love the Food & Patio Seating | | By a Guest Reviewer | | We visit GC at least once a month and whenever we have family visiting we take the group there. We also go for romantic dinners when its just the two of us. The menu appeals to either the seafood/meat and vegeterian lovers. We usually prefer to sit outside in the covered patio. Very enjoyable to look out over the water and see the boats and sea birds. We've even sat out there when it's raining or in the winter - they try to keep you well protected from the elements. Reservations are strongly suggested. They have always been very accomodating with any special seating request. The servings tend to be on the ''large'' size so a couple could share a main dish or take home. Desserts are worth the calories :-)Enjoy. | |

| Great lunch! | | By a Guest Reviewer | | Ate lunch there today, had 'Catch of the Sea' Salad, that had more shrimp and crab meat than I could eat! It was a little loud for conversation, but the food made up for that! Great views, and you can eat outside, right on the water. | |

| has potential | | By a Guest Reviewer | Pros: great scene, nice setting, romantic Cons: very small Its a small intimate restaurant. make sure to make reservations. It has potential to be a very romantic dining experience but when we went there was 2 large parties that were very loud. It would have been great other than that. They have a large wine selection and a nice menu. Candle light, nice music, but loud guests. | |
