Review Guidelines
Basic Review Guidelines:

Your review should focus on specific aspects of the business you are reviewing. Do not simply state you liked or disliked the business - be specific.

The best reviews include not only whether you liked or disliked a business' products or service, but also why.

DO NOT TYPE IN ALL CAPS!

Do not mention competing company names in your reviews. Focus on the company you are reviewing, and if you wish, leave a review about the other companies on their directory listings.

Do not comment on other reviews - respect their position and write your own, but do not argue with others.

Do not use profanity or post spiteful remarks.

Do not write a review that is less than 50 words in length. The goal of a review is to share your experiences with a particular company - very short reviews do not accomplish this.

Do not post phone numbers, email addresses or URLs.

Do not post inflammatory reviews - stop and put yourself in the shoes of the owner of the business you are posting about.

Do not post many reviews about one business. Doing this will cause all of your reviews to be deleted.

Remember, you are responsible for your words.

Adding new reviews is currently disabled while we work on launching a new website.

We vacation in Salter Path, NC every year and Whidden Landing is a tradition with our family. It is very clean. They have a great family atmosphere, a great, affordable childrens menu, and a great wine list!

wonderful experiences

My wife and I dined at Whidden Landing several times throughout the season last year and loved each experience we shared there. From being inside with incredible views to dining over the water on their deck. The food and service was fantistic and I would recommend this establishment to anyone!!!

Horrible, horrible experience
By SorryIWentThereToo! on 7/14/2008
My aunt, uncle, husband, daughter and friends went there one night, expecting a wonderful meal after the recommendation of friends. Both my uncle and I received food with a hair in it. After telling the waitress, we were informed that since we had eaten most of it anyway (we had both almost finished our meals), we would have to pay for it anyway and we would not get another dish. Considering it was implied that we were said owners of the hair (I'm a brunette, the hair was blonde) and how costly the dishes were, we were very upset. We won't be back.

Horrible experience
By sorryiwenthere on 10/3/2007
We had a church group of 27 people and after we were seated and ordered our drinks the waitress told us the manager said it would have to be all on one ticket. Some in our group came prepared to pay with cash, some credit card, but no one came prepared to pay for the entire party. The manager was very rude and came to the table dragging his oxygen tank and told us we could just leave or pay on one ticket. He was so rude and angry about it we all agreed the best thing to do was leave and eat elsewhere. On the way out he starting shouting at us that we had to pay for our drinks. He should have told us about the one ticket deal before we ever ordered our drinks. We graciously paid the grumpy old man for our tea and sodas and left. Even the waitress's were very embarrassed at his behavior and apoligized to us on the way out. I am glad that Whidden's is doing so well they can turn away 27 customers and be rude about it.
