So friendly and ready to make you comfortable. Pool is huge and the water was so blue! The continental breakfast had waffles, french toast, omelets and sausage gravy, which I personally loved! It was a good value all the way around. The rooms looked newly remodeled with beautiful granite vanities and nicely tiled floors in the bathroom. Be sure to say hi to Jim, who runs the place. Nice gentleman. | |
| Awesome Value! | | By a Guest Reviewer | From the moment we arrived, the service was very accomodating. We were in our room very quickly with no hold-ups at the front desk. The room was clean and nicely furnished. The hotel is centrally located to most of the area's attractions; we could be in Beaufort, Atlantic, Beach, or Radio Island within minutes. Lots of area restaurants within walking distance.
The on site restaurant was great! The free breakfast was excellent! I've recieved worse service from four and five star hotels. | |

| Pluses and Minuses | | By a Guest Reviewer | | Stayed at the Buccaneer Inn for a few nights while in town for a video shoot on the Outer Banks. First the pluses: the free high speed internet worked great with no hoops to jump through ... and the pool seemed nice. Also, the continental breakfast looked like it might be good .. .but I left the hotel every morning before 6am, so I never got to try it. On the minus side, the only room left with high speed internet was a smoking room, and it was pretty smelly and dingy: my clothes really smelled when I got home. Also, an odd quirk: there was no COLD water in the room! When you would turn on the cold tap in the sink or shower, it would run ''cool'' for a few seconds, and then get as hot as the hot tap for the next several minutes! It was really a drag when trying to brush your teeth to have a glass of hot water ... and a hot shower was your only option. Not sure what caused that situation, but I did inform the front desk, so maybe it won't affect you on your visit. | |

The rooms have high speed Internet and fridges in them. We had a great meal at the attached restaurant. For the price of the room, you cannot go wrong here | |

More time should be put into cleaning the restroom of the room we stayed in. The bathroom floor wasnt swept, or mopped. Only wiped with a wet cloth. Also never saw any cleaning supplies used in the restroom. Again appeared to be only wiped off. | |

| Comfortable & nice | | By a Guest Reviewer | This ended up being more of a Motel than expected; facility is in two buildings - one of which is obviously the original with the second being newer. We stayed on the 3rd floor of newer building and it was very nice. Clean, updated, and comfortable. Bathrooms were clean (criticism of prior posts) and nicely done (granite countertops, brushed nickel fixtures, wall mounted hair dryer). Air conditioner adjusted to our preferred settings and made for a comfortable night. TV & remote worked great.
The included breakfast was average, but well done. I prefer less packaged foods but it was as expected. The kids found enough to eat and it was all clean and fresh. I didn't use the internet connection - but it was nice that they had one in a primarily tourist area.
I'd expanded my reservation a week before to include a second room. When I got there they'd lost that change, but they accommodated me without any problem.
Only real negative was the elevator lobby area. This was at the end of the hallway on the first floor of the newer building. Both it and even the elevator smelled awful - like 10 people had spent the prior week standing around smoking. My kids were gagging. Though the nearby rooms had no-smoking signs, this area just reeked! However it didn't seem to be anywhere else in the facility.
The Buccaneer Inn was one of the least expensive options I found in the area and thought it was a good value for the money. I expect I would not have gotten anything that was any better unless I paid significantly more. | |

I've stayed at the BW Bucccaneer for one night a year for the past three years before going on all-day fishing trips. The location is real close to the docks and the rate is about the best around. | |
