Since 1938 Captain Bill's has been a local favorite. Although the restaurant has had 3 different locations and a few different names, most of the recipes have stayed the same. This restaurant serves a variety of eatable treats including local seafood, 100% Black Angus Beef, hand cut steaks and their famous homemade desserts, dressings and sauces. Captain Bill's also has an All You Can Eat Buffet available from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. The Marlin Room, a formal banquet room that opens out onto a deck overlooking beautiful Bogue Sound, was added to Captain Bills in 2000. The owners of Captain Bills strive to provide for each and every one of their customers delicious food, excellent service, and a beautiful atmosphere.

Review Guidelines
Basic Review Guidelines:

Your review should focus on specific aspects of the business you are reviewing. Do not simply state you liked or disliked the business - be specific.

The best reviews include not only whether you liked or disliked a business' products or service, but also why.

DO NOT TYPE IN ALL CAPS!

Do not mention competing company names in your reviews. Focus on the company you are reviewing, and if you wish, leave a review about the other companies on their directory listings.

Do not comment on other reviews - respect their position and write your own, but do not argue with others.

Do not use profanity or post spiteful remarks.

Do not write a review that is less than 50 words in length. The goal of a review is to share your experiences with a particular company - very short reviews do not accomplish this.

Do not post phone numbers, email addresses or URLs.

Do not post inflammatory reviews - stop and put yourself in the shoes of the owner of the business you are posting about.

Do not post many reviews about one business. Doing this will cause all of your reviews to be deleted.

Remember, you are responsible for your words.

We have always had good service. It seems the ''off season'' not summer/tourist months are better. I think the servers are locals and it is not as crowded. The lunch specials are reasonable and tasty. We all like the shrimp and it has always been hot and tasty. The prices are comparatible to other seafood places in the area and lower than ''that famous restaurant just down the street'' ie Sanitary. Between the 2 always opt for Capt. Bills!

Terrible! Won't go back again. Food was awful. We only took a bite or two. They even ruined the green beans! Like other review said--we should have known not to stay when there was no one there at noon.

Bad Experience
By Sam on 7/9/2007
The food was not bad until my wife took a bite of her flounder. It was really a bad piece of fish and tasted rotten. We have been eating in Morehead for years and I never tasted anything like it. They offered to replace it but would not adjust the bill. I am not sure many people would want them to bring more food after biting into something like that. The manager was very vocal and scolding the employees the whole time we were there too. Won't go back again.

Last time I ate there was in August 2005. It was really bad. There was no one there -- we should have know then. I ate there 12 to 14 years ago when we were fishing and it was good then. They got over it.

Not Good
By an NCBeaches Guest on 6/28/2007
Poor food, ok service. Food took 35 minutes to come out and it was cold. Service would have been better if the food would have come out on time.

Awesome

I have never had a bad meal at Capt. Bill's. Its hard to find good seafood where I am from so I will make trips to Morehead just to go to there. The Crab Dip is AWESOME!!!!!! They also have a lot of good non-seafood items. They have the best cheese burger I have ever had.

The Only Place to Go!!!

I have been coming here for years and I must say it is the best seafood restaurant I have ever been to! Everytime I come to Morehead City I eat here! Everything is fresh and cooked perfectly every time. The staff is great and is always willing to tell you what is going on in the area! I will certainly be back!
