Reopened local favorite

New owners have reopened this restaurant with substantial changes, including the name being changed to the Broad Creek Cafe.

The traditional country flavor menu, such as fried chicken, meatloaf, and Brunswick stew, has been maintained, but expanded with fresh cold salads, appetizers such as quesadillas and buffalo shrimp, and hot and cold sandwiches, as well as ribeye and NY strip steaks, and the typical seafood dishes.

Portions are generous and well cooked, and prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is still that of a plain country restaurant, but it is extremely clean and the wait staff is very attentive to tourists needs and desires. The friday night prime rib special is well prepared and an unusual value.

After having had numerous meals there, I can easily say it is a very pleasant place to get an excellent and reasonably priced meal in an exceptionally clean establishment.

The listing information is not correct. It is actually located about 5 miles further down Highway 24 than the map indicates, just before Broad Creek. The mailing address is still 3112 Hwy 24, but it is Newport NC, not Morehead City.
