NC Ducks Unlimited ''Band The Billfish'' Tournament

Crystal Coast Civic Center: This will be the 20th year of the ''Band the Billfish'' Tournament. It is held to raise funds to preserve, enhance and maintain wetland habitats in North Carolina through DU's Sound CARE program and in North America through Ducks Unlimited Inc.'s other conservation programs, to promote conservation and research of billfish, and to have a fun tournament of competition in conservation.
Headquartered at Anchorage Marina, Atlantic Beach for registration and weigh-ins. Tournament events are located at the Crystal Coast Civic Center, Morehead City. For more information contact Tav Gauss or Mark Shouse at (252) 237-3717.
Arts & Crafts Coalition Fall Show
Saturday, August 30, 2008 - Sunday, August 31, 2008 (10pm - 5pm)
Beaufort Historic Site: A juried show and sale of arts and crafts of coastal artisans. Four shows occur throughout the year during holidays: Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day and Thanksgiving which is a Christmas exhibition that shows for three weeks. Show hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday and 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. All but the Christmas show occur at the Beaufort Historic Site. 3rd Annual Crystal Coast Super Boat Grand Prix

Downtown Morehead City Waterfront: If you're looking for excitement and feel the need for speed, then come watch the Crystal Coast Super Boat Grand Prix on the Morehead City Waterfront!
Last year's event was so successful that Morehead City has earned a permanent spot on the racing calendar. Watch the Super Boat races from the Morehead City waterfront, one of the best places for up-close audience viewing on the racing circuit.
Some of the activities for this year's race weekend include a “Taste of Crystal Coast” reception, Block Party, Cook Out and Awards Banquet.
The tickets for the race are $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6 to 12 and free for kids 5 and under. Tickets may be purchased at EJW Sports and at the Port Authority gate. Military can purchase tickets at ITT aboard Cherry Point Air Station.
All of the net proceeds from the race will go to benefit The Downtown Morehead City Revitalization Association.
22nd Annual North Carolina Seafood Festival

Morehead City Waterfront: Seafood, Free National & Regional musical entertainment and the cultural heritage and traditions that surround commercial fishing. Rides open Friday night on Morehead City's downtown waterfront.
Weekend events include Seafood, Arts & Craft Vendors, a 8K road race, family fishing contests, sailing competitions and the 5th Annual FREE Boat Show, SasSeas Island Playground Area for Children and the Blessing of the Fleet at 10:00 AM Sunday at the NC State Port.

NC State Port: This 2-day boat show will take place at the NC State Port in Morehead City.
Blessing of the Fleet

Morehead City Waterfront: An event of the NC Seafood Festival taking place at the NC State Port, Morehead City. A processional of commercial fishing boats follows the service. Each boat tosses a wreath overboard in honor of someone they have lost. There is no admission charge.
Antique-A-Thon

The History Place: The Annual Antique-A-Thon is held at The History Place, Morehead City.
Experts from all over the state are available to identify and evaluate items for the public. Wine and Cheese party follows. People are invited to bring antiques and consult with a panel of experts about their treasures. This event is very popular.
