Review Guidelines
Basic Review Guidelines:

Your review should focus on specific aspects of the business you are reviewing. Do not simply state you liked or disliked the business - be specific.

The best reviews include not only whether you liked or disliked a business' products or service, but also why.

DO NOT TYPE IN ALL CAPS!

Do not mention competing company names in your reviews. Focus on the company you are reviewing, and if you wish, leave a review about the other companies on their directory listings.

Do not comment on other reviews - respect their position and write your own, but do not argue with others.

Do not use profanity or post spiteful remarks.

Do not write a review that is less than 50 words in length. The goal of a review is to share your experiences with a particular company - very short reviews do not accomplish this.

Do not post phone numbers, email addresses or URLs.

Do not post inflammatory reviews - stop and put yourself in the shoes of the owner of the business you are posting about.

Do not post many reviews about one business. Doing this will cause all of your reviews to be deleted.

Remember, you are responsible for your words.

Worst Part of Vacaton
By an NCBeaches Guest on 6/19/2008
Bad. No other way to describe it. Wastes a great location on a pier. Service was mediocre at best. Waitress disappeared for a good chunk of time. Food was not worth the money and the whole experience was not worth the time. I don't know how the place stays in business.

Happy Hookers

WE go once a year for vacation. A group of 15 to 20 people. Neat atmosphere for kids and a nice view. Not very fancy just right to have a good bite to eat and a few cocktails in you shorts and tee. Then go walk it off on the pier after your done. Wish I knew the recipe for the Cobra Venom drink I live in NJ and can't just hop in car to get one once in a while. It's so yummy one or two will knock you off your feet WEE DOGGIE!!

Horrible Dining Experience
By EIGuy34 on 5/11/2008
My family and I went to this dump recently while down at our beach place at Emerald Isle. Let me first say that it has been over two years since I last visited Bushwackers and now I know why. First of all there is NO non-smoking area in the restaurant. For anyone not wanting to inhale cancer sticks you must suffer through a cloud of smoke from other rude diners who blow smoke into your face while you are trying to eat. Which brings me to the food. Absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! The portions are very small and way overpriced. I ordered a steak and it had to be the worst steak I have ever been served. No taste or flavor at all. At least the waitress took that off my bill which was still outrageous for the other foods we were served. I agree with what another reviewer wrote.....''if this place fell into the ocean no one would really care.'' Not Recommended at all.

Absolutely not.
By Matt on 2/8/2008
This place is a dump, I don't think anyone would really care if the place fell into the ocean (other than the environmental groups...this place is a biohazard). I was there Summer 2007 and there were clearly open tables and nobody else waiting (gee, I can't imagine why) but they told us we couldn't be seated for more than an hour. We decided to wait. Then we were seated at a broken table and our server was rude. He neglected everything and got our order wrong twice. By the time we got our food (tiny portions, WAY overpriced) it was cold and sitting in a plate of grease. We said ''screw this place'' and left. It sucked, I'd never go back, not even if you paid me.

Didn't Get Past the Trash
By Kimee on 2/4/2008
We pulled in, got out, and almost barfed. Their dumpster was boiling in the 98 degree sun next to the doors- not the best smell for a hungry bunch. Moved along.

Still hungry
By John on 8/27/2007
Waited for almost an hour for food after our order. Once it came one out of six plates was still warm. Two prime ribs were over cooked, sent one back. It came back over cooked and cold! Refused to eat it, but was still charged for my baked potato that I did eat while waiting. All portions were small. Also was charged $2 to split my 3 and 4 year old's shrimp and fries. Wasted $200!

Not the Best
By herdfan on 8/17/2007
Food just OK. Slow service. Mixed up orders. Dropped dinners on floor. Had To wait to be prepared again. Did not offer any compensation for wait. Better places to eat on Emerald Isle

Bad, Bad, bad. Worst food ever. Why leopard print? Only good thing about this place is the view! We won't go back!

Was there last October (2006). The food was great and the service was just as good. I will go back in September of this year.

We were Bushwhacked!!!
By an NCBeaches Guest on 5/31/2007
If you adore leopard print, spandex, hot pants,& menu items using the word ''bush'', this is the cheesy tourist scene for you. While the view is nice, the atmosphere is Hooters by the sea. Don't order the catch of the day. You will be Bushwacked on the serving & the price! PS) By the way, if you want to know what a Daddy Wacker is,just venture to the men's bathroom...

Only restuarant in the area with a view. Food is good. Varied Menu. Long waits just as in every other place on EI.

Great views and great food...
By LoveTheCoast on 4/29/2007
The wait times can be unbearable in the summer, esp. if you can't get a seat in the bar (if anything, they need a *much* bigger bar area). If, however, you can get a seat at the bar, try out a few of their mixed drinks and apps. The bartenders, while very busy, are always top notch and quick with a joke or polite conversation.

The restaurant itself is decorated in a very eclectic, very fun manner and the views are incredible if you get an oceanfront seat.

Bushwackers
By a Guest Reviewer
Been to Bushwackers several times over the past 10 years and although the setting is nice the food was ussually lacking. I have not been in about two years since some of the new restaurants have opened
