| Value: | | Service: | | Food: | | | Ambiance: | | | | A must! | | By Chrissy R on 8/8/2008 | | Wow, I am really surprised by the last review. I am thinking that the last reviewer was there on an off night or something because we really feel the opposite. I was just here this week and everything was really amazing. In fact, the carbonara special and the grouper special ordered at my table were two of the best entrees that we have ever had. Our server was very attentive, our specialty martini's were great, and the owner, Chris, came by and chatted with us even though the place was hoppin. Other people sitting around us were talking how great their meals were. I also don't think that the menu has changed at all because we actually had a 2007 menu guide at our rental house and the menu was te same as the menu guide from this year. I would suggest that the previous reviewer not give up on the fairway just yet. In any event, we love it and we are pretty finicky about food! | |

| Value: | | Service: | | Food: | | | Ambiance: | | | | Really great! | | By Chrissy R on 8/8/2008 | | We have been coming to the Fairway since 2005. I have to say that it continues to be the best place around. I disagree with the last reviewer, I think its become better and better. I really love the new bar, and I don't think that the menu has changed in the past 3 years, so I am unsure ...I guess everyone has their own opinion....but, I really love it here, and go back whenever we are in the area. | |

| Value: | | Service: | | Food: | | | Ambiance: | | | | Not what it used to be | | By Mrs Dwight K Schrute on 8/7/2008 | | This was our favorite restaurant in EI. Our last visit though was so disappointing. The menu changed and the quality of the food had gone down so significantly that it won't be a place we will go back to anytime soon. | |

We stumbled upon it about 3 years ago, and decided to give it a try when we heard the owners wer originally from the NY/NJ area. The food has always been awesome. From hamburgers and appetizers to very gourmet specials. It really cannot be beat. We went by last week and found that they were repaitning the interior and putting in a full service bar. We are so excited as now we can enjoy a martini with our meal. I hated paying for those very high priced ones on the island!! We cannot wait for them to reopen. Supposedly toward the end of February!

Pretty busy in the summer but usually not a long wait. They make everything in house, even roasting their own turkey and roast beef for sandwhiches. Extensive wine and regular menu and very interesting specials menu. Owner, Chris is always around and talks with everyone. He has a great personality, plus he is easy on the eyes, too. :) We love their new crabcakes. They come with deep fried sweet potato fries and sauteed spinach. Excellent wine list. I can't say enough about this place. The decor is very plain and unassuming. Most people are surprised how great the food is as they do not expect much from the decor.

Chris, the owner, even had enough time to come and talk to us and seemed genuinely concerned about how my wife and I were doing. the food none the less was amazing. In addition to the wide menu specializing mainly in Italian style food but, they have chef specialties that change on a daily basis. These chefs are well rounded in thier experience with handling food.
