| Value: | | Service: | | Food: | | | Ambiance: | | | | 30 years & Counting | | By CarolinaBeachGoers on 8/28/2008 | | I went to the Oceanana with my parents when I was a kid and always loved it. My parents fished so having the playground, pool and clean beach there were great for my sister and I. Now my husband and I have been going and taking our children since they were babies. Our oldest is going with his wife and children too now so we're a 3 generation family of Oceanana guests. The staff has always been polite and made us feel welcome. My youngest son was hurt on the playground (his fault) when he was small and they were very helpful with getting him up and cared for. The food has always been the best you'll find anywhere, and the kids have always loved the watermelon parties. The rooms are older but that's part of the charm to it all for us that's what makes it feel like home when you go. Dolly at the PierHouse is an angel, she's just the sweetest person and always happy to see you. | |

We found Oceanana in 2006 and the kids insisted we go in 2007 and 2008. You cannot beat the service and amenities at Oceanana. This is the BEST family resort for the cost we've ever found!
Last year we decided to add one more night to our stay after we got there. We did move rooms for that last night. The staff was very helpful in finding accommodations for us. The second room had a drain problem in the sink. We notified the staff around noon, and it was fixed a few hours later when we returned.
We suggested Oceanana to friends who already had reservations at another resort in Atlantic Beach. After looking into it, they changed their reservations to Oceanana and are returning this year.
Some basic opinions - old facility but CLEAN. Very friendly staff. Rooms kept clean. Great breakfast every morning. Biggest plus is the umbrellas and chairs available to the guests. Loads of activities for the kids - games and jungle gym. We are not pool users when at the beach, but Oceanana does have a nice pool with outdoor facilities. It's great to have a pier next to the resort. Grab an icecream in the evening and walk the pier with the kids.
Oceanana is also very convenient to local attractions.
Thank you owners and staff at Oceanan!

My own grandmother couldn't hold candle to this place! If you like NC sweet tea and grits, this is the place for you!

My parents are big into fishing and I remember coming to the beach every fall for the fishing and I remember the wonderful playground I thought I was in Heaven as a child some of original toys and games were there. I now have a family of two boys and they absolute love it. The only complaint is the air/heat units It would be nice to controll it yourself.

The rooms really need fixed up and modernized badly. But, it was clean, and the service was excellent. The staff were friendly, and made the entire stay so enjoyable. The restaraunt is awesome. We didn't leave the whole week we were there. We are definetly coming back soon. This motel is very difficult to find on the web though.

We have never felt more at home and never worried about the safety of my girls. The are grown now and they are taking their families. This is the only place our family wants to vacation. We have always had a great relationship with the staff, it like going home to visit with family

For such a dump, the staff acts like you are on the grounds of Ft. Knox. If you have friends on the island and would like for them to stop by. FORGET IT. No one is allowed on the property. They will call the law. It is ridiculous. They called the law on my son because he had a friend from high school pull in their parking lot to speak to him about a fishing trip that they had planned for the next day. DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE!

It is clean, comfortable, and the staff is fabulous! If you are looking for lunch or a snack this is the place to go.

| We had an excellent weekend. | | By a Guest Reviewer | We stayed with the fine folks at the Oceanna Resort for the first time this past weekend. We had a great time. The room is a bargain and the resort is great for kids and fishermen alike. Service was very good, check in went well (no unexpected charges) and the maids did a good job of cleaning the room.
One improvement would be in room temperature controls. The air conditioning was good and cold during the hot days and not too cold at night, however it always feels better if you control the temperature yourself.
We WILL stay here again and will tell everyone about the great rates and amenities.
