Review Guidelines
Basic Review Guidelines:

Your review should focus on specific aspects of the business you are reviewing. Do not simply state you liked or disliked the business - be specific.

The best reviews include not only whether you liked or disliked a business' products or service, but also why.

DO NOT TYPE IN ALL CAPS!

Do not mention competing company names in your reviews. Focus on the company you are reviewing, and if you wish, leave a review about the other companies on their directory listings.

Do not comment on other reviews - respect their position and write your own, but do not argue with others.

Do not use profanity or post spiteful remarks.

Do not write a review that is less than 50 words in length. The goal of a review is to share your experiences with a particular company - very short reviews do not accomplish this.

Do not post phone numbers, email addresses or URLs.

Do not post inflammatory reviews - stop and put yourself in the shoes of the owner of the business you are posting about.

Do not post many reviews about one business. Doing this will cause all of your reviews to be deleted.

Remember, you are responsible for your words.

Pretty average. Good food, but limited. We have eaten breakfast and lunch here several times. Service and atmosphere okay. Nothing to set it apart from other places. Sometimes it is a quick place to eat and run, sometimes not.

Surprisingly Disappointing
By an NCBeaches Guest on 2/7/2008
Pleasant to the eye but not the most comfortable place I've been. Service lacking both times I have been there. Food was tasty. While I would not sit there and use my laptop without purchasing food and/or drink, I do resent being told what, how much and how often I need to order so that I may check my email or meet with an associate.

Top Notch Nosh

When ever we come to the shore we make several stops at the Sunset Gourmet. The muffins, cookies and pastries are great to have around the beach house. We often stop in to get the specialty sandwiches to take on picnics. My husband and I also enjoy having a causual breakfast here. The coffee, bagels, sweets and egg sandwiches are great. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. There are always interesting gourmet foods, handmade baskets and original pieces of artwork to purchase too! Whether we stop in for coffee, a meal, or to pick up carry out food we are always delighted.

This is a laid back little restaurant that serves very fresh, wholesome food. The atmosphere is one that makes everyone feel welcome and no one is in a rush to leave. Jo strives to please and does a good job at it!

Worth the Trip

Great place to meet. Attractive, great ambience and service. Breakfast and lunches have been tasty. Soup and sandwiches very good. They are not pricey. My only 'con' would be I tried to get a gift certificate on 3 different occasions but they were never available.

If you're looking for a friendly atmosphere and great food, Sunset Gourmet is the place to go for breakfast or lunch.

What's especially great is there is something for everyone on the menu. Want a healthy and unique salad? The artichoke salad is outstanding. Have a sweet tooth that is yearning for a latte and a great muffin or piece of cake? The choices of desserts are outstanding.

But the best part of Sunset Gourmet is the owner-chef, Jo. She takes the time to know her regular customers and the special touches they enjoy in their dining choices.

Sunset Gourmet is a great neighborhood restaurant that only adds a special touch to Sunset Beach.

Gourmet all the way
By Guest on 1/12/2008
While visiting a friend in Sunset Beach I was pleasantly surprised to find the best coffee and muffins ever. Sunset Gourmet not only has great food and coffee but enthusiastic counter help and a nice variety of gift items. If a gourmet is someone with a sensitive and discriminating palate then those standards are met and exceeded at this little unassuming restaraunt. What a great find!

A Great Find in an Unexpected Place!
By NCBeachLover on 1/12/2008
My family and I visit Brunswick County Beaches each year and found the only thing that was missing was a place where we could enjoy a nice lunch with great atmosphere and delicious food...until we found Sunset Gourmet last year! This great little spot, tucked behind Food Lion in Sunset Beach, has an inviting atmosphere and delicious soups, salads and sandwiches where everything is homemade! My daughter suffers from a wheat allergy and it is so nice to be able to eat somewhere where there are healthy vegetarian options and the chef and staff know what ingredients are in the food. The soups are phenomenal! The baked goods are great too! I just don't have anything negative to say about this place - when we are at the beach, we eat there nearly every day!
