we decided to visit this shop. Looked fun for my grandchildren. There was nothing fun about our experience.My daughter was made to feel so uncomfortable, that she left the store with my grandson, who was only looking at a book. The unpleasant clerk apparently needs to be retrained with her customer service skills. very lacking.I also left the shop with my granddaughter,without purchasing anything. My husband stood at the register several minutes before she acknowledged him. Apparently, since he was only purchasing candy, she didn't seem to care if he was waited on in a timely manner. We certainly were not made to feel like valued customers. We visit this area several times a year. This shop will not be visited again nor will I recommend it . | |

The shop, itself, is very unique to say the least and should have been a nice experience for my children. The older man working there was helpful and nice, but the older lady was awful. My son was just looking at a book, seriously, while my wife was standing next to him and the older woman told him to be gentle, gentle. Not to mention she wouldn't stop stocking the shelves to check us out. We decided to leave. I do not recommend the store. There are others with better, friendlier service. Too bad, you would think that a candy/toy store would be perfect for children. I will never return after the way this lady treated us. I would guess that it's the same lady from the other reviews. | |

I really like the merchandise and have spent alot of money in there. The owner and employees are not the friendliest though. In fact, they yelled at us and my friend's daughter for picking up a stuffed animal. Quite embarrassing and we left immediately. It was the first time my friend had ever visited Southport and I had raved about the store so I was not pleased with the treatment. Made us all very uncomfortable and scared the kids. It seems from the other reviews we weren't the only ones to get this treatment. | |

Am a frequent visitor to the area and love to visit this shop.Its full of unique toys,books and other gifts you won't find just anywhere. However they could work on their people skills. The clerk was rude and distant and talking to someone else while finally waiting on me. Never looked at me in the face as if I was insignificant to her.It is not good for business to treat your paying customers this way. | |

I found one woman to be extremely rude. Her comment was it must be Thursday , they are all getting ready to go home, that's why we are busy. If she doesn't want ''tourists'' in her store. I sure that is fine ,we can all stay away. Such a shame one person can ruin a day of shopping for an entire family. She was also quite rude to my daughter,who attempted to purchase an item and was told,''you took my mermaid off this it is not for sale. My daughter's response was, it has a price on it how was I to know? The ''lady'' said this very loudly and it was quite ridiculous for her to make such a big deal out of it. I don't think she has to worry about us ever making another purchase there, and it is their problem, we spent quite alot of money in there. | |
