CROP Hunger Walk

Southport, Oak Island and Bald Head Island locations: In partnership with Church World Service and organized locally by the Southport-Oak Island Interchurch Fellowship, the SOIICF CROP Hunger Walk draws over 200 walkers and since 1984 has raised over $183,000 to help stop hunger and poverty here in our community and around the world, through self-help initiatives. 25% of funds raised each year are used by SOIICF for local emergency human needs in our community. CROP Hunger Walks continue to play a big role in the US Gulf Coast rebuilding and in Central America. Support our community walk! Sign-up at your church or contact Ann Parvin.

Start Locations: Franklin Square Park - Southport. Middleton Park - Oak Island. Fire Station - Bald Head Island. Registration is at 1:30 p.m. and walk begins at 2:00 p.m.

Beehive: The 60's Musical

Franklin Square Park: This musical is a retrospective to the great female artists of the 60's and early 70's, with a little history thrown in for educational purposes! An all-female cast brings back memories of artists like the Chiffons, the Shirelles, the Supremes, Shelley Fabares, Brenda Lee, Lesley Gore, Connie Francis, Cher, Petula Clark, Lulu, Tina Turner, Janis Ian, Aretha Franklin, Janice Joplin, Grace Slick, and others. Great music, fun comedy, and family-friendly!

Show will be held in Franklin Square Park in Southport. Dates are May 15-17 and May 22-24. FREE Admission!
