It seems if you're sitting at a grill, you wait forever for the chef. If you take a table, the wait staff seems very slow (for some odd reason, they always want to take your glass to get you a refill -- I've found you can ask them to just bring a pitcher of tea though).

Food is always spot on. I've eaten most of the entres there, and the wife and kid always eat something from their sushi bar and love it. The shrimp sauce is incredible, and the steak is always very tender. Shrimp doesn't seem to be old and it always has a nice texture and flavor to it.

Enjoyed Osaka's Japanese Steakhouse

We enjoyed Osaka's Japanese Steakhouse very much. This was our first time eating at a Japanese Steakhouse. The meal came with an onion broth soup and small plain salad. You place your order and the Chef cooks your food right at your table performing a variety of tricks like twirling his knife and spatula, flipping eggs into the air and catching them in his hat, making a little volcano out of a stack of onions rings by lighting them. The steak, chicken, shrimp, scallops, rice and vegetables were all very good. Your table where your food is cooked has seats arranged around it and you generally with be seated with other people to fill your table. There is one large table/cooking area that can hold up to around 20 people and 2 other tables for smaller groups. The food is cooked and eaten at these tables in rotation with the Chefs moving from table to table. When busy you will have to wait until someone leaves to get seated. They also have a small Sushi Bar and tables for it. I thought Osaka's was a bit pricy for a small town like Shallotte. It ran around $105.00 for a family of five not including tip. Overall we enjoyed Osaka's Japanese Steakhouse, especially the kids.

Excellent Japanese food

The Osaka Japanese Steakhouse has excellent food! Your meal comes with salad and soup, and the chef prepares your food at your table's grill. The teriyaki chicken is great, as well as the shrimp. The pink shrimp sauce is the best! Can't wait to go back!!
