| Value: | | Service: | | Food: | | | Ambiance: | | | | Not good or worth the drive | | By hungarian2 on 9/9/2011 | | We were staying at Holden Beach and decided to make the drive over. Mistake. I ordered a caesar salad with blackened chicken. The salad was the same size as the entree side salad with a piece of chicken on top with a 1/4 inch seasoning. Way too strong and was a whopping $15. My husband ordered the seafood bucket. Crab legs were great but he got 4 oysters. 2 didn't even have oysters in them and the other 2 were so steamed they were dried up. They screwed up our check and others at our table. It was so bad that the table behind us was loudly complaining of food and service. While we were walking out the door 2 different parties busted out complaining. Do not recommend. Beautiful place, bad food, overpriced, and not good service. | |

| Value: | | Service: | | Food: | | | Ambiance: | | | | Just Don't go too early | | By PJ on 9/5/2011 | | I had researched this place online, because nothing ruins a good vacation like food poisoning or bad food. This was our spot for our anniversary dinner (from Pa and go away for our anniversary). The place was very nice, the bathroom which doubled as a locker room could have been cleaner for just opening up , especially with waiters or restaurant workers BSing in the dining area. We went there and they didn't have their dinner menu which kind of stunk because well, I researched the menu already lol. We did have really good appetizers though, my wife's shrimp and crab quesidilla was amazing. I had a she crab soup and it was great, the calamari was good with this dipping sauce on the side. Then we recieved our sliders and burgers. My burger was overcooked for my taste and I wasn't a fan of the onion rings, and my wife really didn't like her hush puppies which were really dense, The waitress however was top-notch, she took pictures of us (seems to be the hardest thing on vacation with just two people, ) so we have pictures of the experience. So yes the service and the ambience were amazing, the apps to die for , the bar menu ahhh so/so . I wish this site allowed you to post pics because I'm not big into reading bad reviews with out proof. | |

| Wish the food was like the view... | | By jane on 4/23/2008 | Every year we hope that changes in food choice and preparation will make this beautiful setting worth the trip. Have had less than fresh seafood and salads. Would like more value for the money in the best view at OIB. | |

| Value: | | Service: | | Food: | | | Ambiance: | | Wine List: | | | | We didn't have any problems................. | | By Nikki on 12/21/2007 | | We took 17 people to eat here after we were married. We didn't reserve the private room, we just made a reservation and ate in the main dinning area on a Monday evening. There is not one thing bad we can say about the service, they even gave us two servers. And everyone enjoyed thier food. I no this because nobody really had room for cake. We'll eat here again. | |

| Value: | | Service: | | Food: | | | Ambiance: | | Wine List: | | | | Better | | By Beach Lover on 12/3/2007 | | Been there before in the past. I do believe The Isles is the best it has ever been. Took my wife there for our 10th anniversary. Excellent wine list. I suggest anything by Dog Ridge. View wonderful. Food Great. Nice service. Will celebrate our 11th there as well! | |

It could be a great establishment if the waitstaff and cooks were not so unskilled at basic food cookery. Fish and shrimp were very fresh yet cooked until texture of leather. Clams and oysters were dead and unopened after steaming. Then, after being sent back, the shellfish was obvioulsy shucked open and the waiter lied to me that they were only steamed. I've worked with seafood all my life and ive never seen a clam or oyster ''steamed'' completely out of shell and breaking the hinge. | |

| Value: | | Service: | | Food: | | | Ambiance: | | Wine List: | | | | A wasted space on the water | | By an NCBeaches Guest on 6/1/2007 | | I've eaten there once a summer for 3 summers and each time I'd hope they'd eventually realize how terrible the service was and get it together, to my dismay nothing year after year improves. You're basically paying for the view. Food terrible, service worse! | |

| Value: | | Service: | | Food: | | | Ambiance: | | Wine List: | | | | Only the View... | | By Velneel on 5/9/2007 | | A very delayed,indifferent greeting, inattentive service and average cuisine left us disappointed. Only the spectacular sunset view from the terrace made the experience memorable. | |
