Review Guidelines
Basic Review Guidelines:

Your review should focus on specific aspects of the business you are reviewing. Do not simply state you liked or disliked the business - be specific.

The best reviews include not only whether you liked or disliked a business' products or service, but also why.

DO NOT TYPE IN ALL CAPS!

Do not mention competing company names in your reviews. Focus on the company you are reviewing, and if you wish, leave a review about the other companies on their directory listings.

Do not comment on other reviews - respect their position and write your own, but do not argue with others.

Do not use profanity or post spiteful remarks.

Do not write a review that is less than 50 words in length. The goal of a review is to share your experiences with a particular company - very short reviews do not accomplish this.

Do not post phone numbers, email addresses or URLs.

Do not post inflammatory reviews - stop and put yourself in the shoes of the owner of the business you are posting about.

Do not post many reviews about one business. Doing this will cause all of your reviews to be deleted.

Remember, you are responsible for your words.

Adding new reviews is currently disabled while we work on launching a new website.

Best ribs ever
By Guest on 1/1/2009
We have had some very good ribs at many places around the U.S., but we believe that the Sugar Shack has the best ribs we have ever tasted.

Great food
By Chris Stires on 8/20/2008
My wife and I have been going to Ocean Isle Beach now for 5years and never new that Sugar Shack was there until this year. It is now our favorite place to eat when we come down. What great food and service. Getting ready to call now to set a reservation for two weeks from now. Wonderful place.

Best around
By Guest on 8/2/2008
We visited the Sugar Shack on a whim needing somewhere to eat on our last night on vacation. I picked this place out and everyone reluctantly went. I have to say I deserved a tip for every comment on the food when we left. We tried a variety of foods and not one thing got a bad review from us. It was all positively delicious and truly Jamaican. I myself raved over the codfish balls but also tried some of the ribs and pork and pizza, all great!! We will definitely eat here again if in the area and may plan our vacation somewhere close just to get to eat there!!

Never miss it!
By Kat on 7/30/2008
We have been going to Sunset Beach for 4 years now and always stop at the Sugar Shack to celebrate my husbands birthday. It is by far the best food that we have ever tasted. We actually broke down and tried the curried goat this year. I know, it sounds scarry, but it is excellent! It tastes just like pot roast and just melts in your mouth! It will definately be my meal next year! Like a majority of the other reviewers have stated, the ribs are excellent and just fall off of the bone. The jerk chicken and coconut shrimp are equally good. I can honestly say I have never had anything less that excellent there! There was a rumor that she was going to open a restaurant in Akron, Ohio at Lock 3 and we hope she is still planning on it! It would probably break us, but we would be the most content, broke couple in Ohio!

Unbelievable!
By Keeley on 4/19/2008
My family and I went here during our Spring break this year (2008). My feet were tappin', my mouth was smilin', and my company was mowin' down the tastiest food we've had so far in our lives- no joke. My family raved about the ribs, and my mouth waters just thinking about their jerk chicken and coleslaw. TO DIE FOR! Enjoy-

what a find!
By Guest on 1/27/2008
we made our annual myrtle beach trip with 12 guys over labor day weekend. Four of us stumbled upon the sugar shack on Friday night. We had some great appetizers the crap friiters were especially tasty with the lime flavored dipping sauce. For dinner we all had the ribs which buy all accounts were the best ribs we have ever had, the side of fries and cole slaw were also unbelievable. We had such a good meal we brought the rest of our group back the following night, and all 12 of us ordered the ribs and everyone agreed they were the best ribs we have ever had. Can't wait until next labor day to go back to the sugar shack.

The best...
By an NCBeaches Guest on 8/12/2007
...wings you will ever have! Not your typical wings - marinated in jerk sauce, and giving the term ''fall off the bone'' new meaning. Must try the crab fritters, cod fritters, jamaican patties, and of course the wings. The staff and owners are extremely friendly. A great place to dine in or take out. Life has never been the same at Ocean Isle since I found Sugar Shack!
