28th Annual North Carolina Oyster Festival

When: Saturday, October 18, 2008 - Sunday, October 19, 2008

Where: Ocean Isle Beach

The premier oyster roast in the state attracted over 45,000 in 2007. This festival includes live entertainment, arts and crafts, N.C. Oyster Shuckin' Championship, Oyster Stew Cook-Off, Kid's Area and Road Race.

The 2007 Oyster Festival, hosted by the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce, was awarded the ''Event of the Year'' from the North Carolina Association of Festivals and Events in February 2008. The event also received ''Best Brochure'' and ''Best Event Photo.'' Festival & Events Director, Kristin Coffey, also received ''Director of the Year'' for the Oyster Festival.
