Are You Smarter than a Village Schooler?

Odell Williamson Auditorium at Brunswick Community College: The ''Are You Smarter than a Village Schooler'' event brings together students from the Evelyn Smith Wray Village School and communiy leaders from Brunswick County. Contestants include Rex Gore, Sheriff John Ingram, Marty Cooke, Cindy Cheatham, Dr. Joanne Peck, Dr. Jeffrey Coury, Laura Thompson, Scott Harrell, Velva Jenkins, Debi Knox, Scott Kucera and Drayton Garrett. The VIP Reception and Sildent Auction begin at 4:30 p.m., the Show begins at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 for General Admission or $50 for VIP Admission. Proceeds benefit the ESW Village School, a non-profit education center.

Capt. Kyle's Thanksgiving Inshore Classic

Ocean Isle Fishing Center: This year we will keep the same format that we have had over the past coupe of years, with the winner being decided by the largest combined/aggregate weight of 3 speckled trout. We will pay back the top 5 places overall (5 largest 3 - trout aggregates), and will have two separate TWTs, one for the largest 3 - trout combined weight (Split between the 1st/2nd/3rd place finishers) and a TWT for the largest single trout (Also split between the 1st/2nd/3rd place finishers). Basic entry for the tournament will be $100, and the entry for the TWTs will be $50 each. 100% of all entries will be payed back to the winners (both overall and TWTs). Registration will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 27th, and fishing will be from 6:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 28th. Awards will be directly following weigh - in at 5:00 p.m.

The Nutcracker under the Sea

Brunswick Community College Odell Williamson Auditorium, Hwy. 17, Supply: Brunswick Ballet Company & Brunswick Little Theatre will perform this adaptation of the traditional story of the Nutcracker, which gives it a local flare without changing the basics of the story or music. It takes place on a North Carolina rice plantation in the 1800's, and Clara's dream in Act II takes place under the sea.
